If that actually works, it's more on those schools than him IMO

Dumb. The regular season hasn’t even ended yet. This isn’t some grand conspiracy, get real.

Louisianastan complex. So many shitty things happen that people are eternally fatalistic.

At the same time which coach would we have lost trying to pursue Lane? Lea was never leaving. Drinkiwitz is a hard pass for me. Everyone else is still on the table

It would be a 4D chess move, but where this negotiation is at, Sexton would lose so much leverage as an agent doing this. He would be viewed as a bad faith negotiator, you don't clean that mark off.

I can't imagine someone risking their season to create that much of a distraction just to possibly cause other schools an issue. Just seems dumb.

If LSU and Florida don’t have backup plans it’s their own fault for being so stupid.

he may be a troll, but this is "conspiracy theory" levels of delusion...

1. he'd have to know that even on the surface of it, it wouldn't look good for him to flirt with other programs, with Ole Miss on a playoff run

2. there's no gurantee it "hurts" either program, in the long run... on the surface, sure it looks like a "gotcha", but there's no reason to think that either program would be permanently, or even long term, negatively affected by Lane turning them down....

it's a stupid premise thought of and only taken seriously by stupid people...

It’s entirely possible knowing how lane is. That being said, I think people should stop overthinking it until something actually happens

I mean if you participated in the last few coaching searches it’s how it goes. That’s why I just try not to take it too serious either way. Whatever happens is going to happen

Dude that is my biggest thing. Like why does everyone just believe in doom and despair no matter what. The doomers for us are equivalent to the delusion of UF

You need to realize sexton has other clients, he wouldn’t let lane wanting to play a game cost his clients. That would be a bad business look to have someone you rep string out a school in bad faith

Furthermore this is stupid as LSU or UF just stopping everything would be dumb on their part. It’s also a huge distraction for his team and has pissed some boosters off.

This conspiracy theory only works for those that have never been involved in real business deals.

Right, it might hurt the signing class next week or whenever it is but the portal is still a thing. And honestly I don’t think it would even hurt the recruiting class that much because players know that they can just transfer out.

Have you looked at the overall condition of the state?

Wouldn’t that also kinda nuke and distract his team too?

He's going to stay because he has Ole Miss on the cusp of a playoff run, as he should.
