Bonus money for Kiffin

If Ole Miss wins the first round game there is a $250,000 bonus, $500,000 for next round appearance. Who gets that money if he’s not coaching?

The players will split it 350 ways

He’s still under contract until 2031. If Ole Miss doesn’t let him coach in the playoffs isn’t that basically firing him and that would trigger a large buyout.

He won’t be the coach if he announces he is Leaving. OM isn’t going to let him have his cake and eat it too.

Just to be clear, you’re stating that if Kiffin leaves Ole Miss and is coaching elsewhere, does Ole Miss pay out the rest of his contract?

Nope.
You don’t get a buyout if you’re fired for cause.
Quitting so you can go to work for your rival is cause.

It goes to the NIL coffers

But then you double up on dumb with your follow-up.

I doubt this

He won't be fired. He has been asked to make a decision. If he leaves OM voluntarily, he owes OM $4M. They won't fire him because they would then owe him LDs. I believe those are in the $35M range. So, no, they won't fire him.

You don’t think that hitting the recruiting trail for another program, running practices, coaching games and being the face of your rival’s program is cause for firing?
That’s a for cause firing situation if there ever was one. Candidly, LK would probably owe Ole Miss money in such a scenario.

No it isn’t. If you quit a company you are no longer working there and you can’t be fired if you are not an employee.

According to The Ole Miss athletic website section 4 paragraph 2 states “If the head coach is no longer coaching at the time of a playoff victory the money will go into “free parking”
