If Kiffin wants to be here, fine. If not, we’re better off to move on now.

Did we learn nothing from the Jimbo Fisher, Tom Herman, and Lincoln Riley fiascos? Find a coach who is hungry and talented and wants to be here. Who will love LSU and Louisiana and see the value in this place. Kiffin isn’t that much better than everyone else to drag him here with money if his heart isn’t in it.

If he comes, great. If not, I won’t be at all upset. Get someone who wants to rebuild this thing.

i would assume that's what LSU is working on this week, ready to have a guy on the backburner.

Why would his heart be in it for LSU? If he takes the job it will be to win championships. Not a love for LSU. Good enough for me.

It should be settled this week. I don’t think LSU or Ole Miss will let it drag on.

I still think Kiffin is coming but the backup option imo should be Dillingham or Key. Don’t want Drinkwitz.

The best thing for LSU is to be patient and wait. There is no reason to rush into a potential mistake.

Saban quit LSU Christmas Eve.
Miles was hired in January.
Bama hired Deboer AFTER the Natty.

Panicans should be ignored.

Eric Morris is just a state and a phone call away.

Is this how losers think? LSU gets interest from one of the best coaches in America, and idiots like you complain that its taking Lane too long.
Clown, hes in a 50+ million contract currently and things have to be worked out respectfully. If he were to leave, he has to write a 4 million dollar check back to OM.

I agree that LSU can’t simply wait around for the timing to be right for Kiffin. The only leverage they actually have is the ability to pull the offer.

There is no playing nice with OM. We already made a run at their HC, if he signs we will be screwing them. Even this public display would likely be enough of a fracture to diminish their current season success. It may be a little late to make threats for this week, but I don’t understand why you let a huge offer just sit there with no guarantees and risk changing circumstances.

It sounds like you're assuming he doesn't actually want to be here, entirely based on... nothing?

Let the process play out, and have a little faith that things will work out. One way or another, I think we'll end up with someone worthy of the position.

We did that in 2016 and fired him 5 years later. That didn't work either.

This is why he is called Lane Kiffdashian. Welcome to our world.

Very different era of college football. First, there was no freedom to transfer then without the penalty of sitting out a year. Thus, there was little worry of the roster being depleted even with a coaching change. Second, HS signing day was in February. A new HC could take the job in January, use that month to establish relationships with the recruits, and still sign a class in February. That's not the case anymore.

This is a more appropriate comparison. But if you remember, Alabama still lost a few signees from that class (most notably, Julian Sayin). They also lost some key transfers (led by Downs). They were able to salvage some of the guys who entered the portal. They were also able to get some in the spring as well. But that option is now gone.

There is a risk to waiting though. That risk is Kiffin decides he doesn't want to leave OM. Then LSU is in a spot where the next group of candidates are all picked over.
