Pellet grill/smoker that has temp range from 225 -1250, currently $300 off
I have always been gas grill fan and do mostly high heat cooking , also line to smoke low n slow, have been intrigued by the pellet smokers but concerned that they would disappoint me with grilling, as well as durability
My current Weber is on its last leg, they just don’t make them as good as they used to

The X-Fire Pro is the only wood pellet grill that combines the speed and sizzle of a gas grill experience with the rich flavor of traditional wood-fired smoking. Thanks to Dual Mode Cooking, you get two premium experiences in one. In Grill Mode, enjoy open-lid, high-heat grilling—just like a classic gas grill. With temperatures reaching up to 1250ºF, the X-Fire Pro is the hottest pellet grill on the market and hotter than almost any gas grill. Adaptive Sear Control lets you fine-tune the flame in real time. Turn it up for a steakhouse-quality crust, or dial it down for more traditional grilling. Switch to Smoke Mode for a true wood-fired experience. With precision temperature control and dual-band Wi-Fi capability, you’ll get perfect low-and-slow results every time. Built like a tank with stainless steel where it counts and engineered for performance, the X-Fire Pro delivers an unmatched temperature range of 225ºF to 1250ºF—making it the only grill you’ll ever need.

quote:no experience with the product you’ve asked about but from the description it sounds like a whole lot of things on it that are liable to break or stop working. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t need a made in china WiFi enabled grill/smoker. If I want 1200 degrees I can grill right on top of a chimney starter inside my barrel

Good points and I don’t disagree that a lot of things that can go wrong
Seems this brand has been touted on this board and by others , and this one caught my attention

And I just checked it has a 6 year “bumper to bumper”warranty that excludes rust, specifically rust of the cast iron grates, …deal breaker

any cast iron grates are going to rust if you leave them outside, even under a cover. It’s too humid 90% of the time. So you can meticulously clean and oil them and store them inside, or you can accept that they are going to rust. I choose the latter and suspect that everyone else does as well
my advice if you want a pellet smoker is to find one made in USA with as few moving parts as possible and little if any electronics. My brother has a very simple one and he loves it and there’s something to be said for set and forget without fiddling around with air and fire. On the other hand, fiddling around with air and fire is an art and brings great satisfaction, to me at least

Buddy was looking at the Xfire and the Deck Boss 800. The bbq store here said the deck boss will grill better than the xfire will smoke. My buddy got the deck boss. YMMV.
