Thoughts on this film? Directed by Whit Stilman and starring Chloe Sevigny

Didn't that happen in Kids? I just read about it because we coincidentally have 2 threads about movies w/ Chloe Sevigny. Time for a Brown Bunny blowjob thread?

Anyway, Last Days of Disco wasn't as interesting to me as the first two Whit Stilman movies. Not sure why. I remember reading at the time that he was trying to close out his "New York trilogy," or something, but it didn't stand out to me as much. Certainly didn't rewatch it for quotable lines like Barcelona.

I saw it at the theater when it came out. After watching it I remember turning to a buddy asking him, "What was that about?" He replied, "Kind of like disco huh?" So in a nutshell, a totally forgettable movie.

It’s classic Stillman. An entertaining
study of a very specific subculture of
Young adults.

I always thought Sevigny was hot in an unconventional way. Plus you know that she’s a freak in the bedroom…

And in front of the camera apparently.

I think the whole Doomed Bourgeoisie in Love trilogy is great, including this one. It's the most polished of the three and has the same obsessions as the other two. The whole yuppie conversation is classic Whitman.
