Ahead of No. 7 Ole Miss‘ clash against Florida this Saturday, FOX Sports‘ Joel Klatt claims that both Ole Miss and LSU are offering Kiffin a ‘blank check’ to lead their programs into the future. Klatt also revealed that Florida is not quite in that same boat.

quote:

There’s an old coaching adage out there that the quickest way to be defeated is to be distracted,” Klatt said. “I think that the biggest threat to Ole Miss down the stretch is distraction. And that distraction in the form of their future head coach. I don’t know where Lane Kiffin is going to end up. I know that Ole Miss is basically telling him, ‘Hey, it’s a blank check. You tell us what you need to stay here, and we will do it.’ I have that on good authority. “I also have, on pretty good authority, that LSU is prepared to do the same thing for Lane Kiffin. They’ll basically tell him, ‘The keys are yours.’ Florida is a job that I think Lane would prefer over the other two, from what I’ve been told, and they are not quite in the same boat as Ole Miss and LSU in terms of ‘here, the sky is yours and name your price.’ There are more strings.”

When’s the last time UF had a successful coach?

LSU is a better football job than Florida period. 3 different coaches have won titles at LSU this century. Florida got a legendary coach in Urban to win their 2 Titles. Miles and Orgeron in comparison to Meyer is like Belichick on the Browns to Belichick on the Patriots.

Blank check at both.

Sky high expectations at LSU
High expectations at Ole Miss
Job security with 9 wins a season at Ole Miss
Job security with 11 wins most seasons at LSU
Ole Miss gives him a steeper hill to climb to grab that trophy
LSU's hill has been climbed multiple times by previous coaches with maps to the top provided, and it has elevators, and water stops along the way to that trophy. It's an easier ride.

Hmm, I don't know which hill he should choose.

Considering LSU absolutely crushed Ole Miss in NIL in one off season led by the biggest POS coach on the planet, I have serious doubts Ole Miss is ready to reach the numbers LSU has planned for the right coach.

In what world do they offer Kiffin 13 a year, with LSU’s staffing budget, and 25-30 million a year in NIL? There’s no way

And that’s not a low hanging fruit “xxxxx school is poor” rant all the 300 lb sec rant posters love to throw at people. I’m just saying there are only a few schools that can keep up with LSU’s football money. Academics is another story

Lane coached at USC and Bama during their respective dynasties.

Maybe he is tired of being held back by Ole Miss? LSU has never had “The Man” and Kiffin has that opportunity to do that here.

Kiffin would dominate at LSU after the first mulligan year of his tenure. If he were to come here, have a decent DC, access to a $20-25 million a year NIL roster, I'm hanging more title posters to my mancave over the next 10 years.

Imagine Florida being too picky and passing on Lane Kiffin. You can't, right? That's why you know it's BS.

People shite on Verge but he is absolutely the guy you want as AD if you want Lane.

Scott scoffs at guys like Will Wade and Lane cause he can’t control their personalities

He basically left the door open for him to seem right if he coaches at any of the 3

“LSU and Ole Miss have given him the keys to the castle but he really wants Florida”

Thanks Joel.

So are we all dumb enough to get into a bidding war?

Winner is stuck with Kiffin at 15 million a year....in the case of LSU and Florida 25 million a year for a few years for......1 coach......all for a shiny crystal trophy....and if they win it and then have a rough few years.....there will be calls for their heads.
