Salinas police say two teens were cited after a crash in which one briefly caught fire.
Police say that on Thursday evening, a 15- and 16-year-old were riding non-street-legal dirt bikes northbound on North Main Street.
A woman was exiting the Target Shopping Center on Harden Ranch and turning left to head south on Main Street on a green light.
Police say the teens ran the light, and the older teen sideswiped the car. He and the bike briefly caught fire, police said.
The 16-year-old suffered only a broken ankle.
Police said both teens were cited for infractions and released to their parents.
