Approximately 58,220 U.S. service members died In Vietnam To Stop the Spread Of Communism

An now the US is seeing major parts giving in to Communism at the ballot box of all things.
The History Channel has a multipart series call "Vietnam in HD" I watched today and when I think of what's happening now it really impacted me on the times we are now living. Here is an approximate breakdown of the casualties the US incurred to fend of the communist spread:
U.S. Military Casualties in the Vietnam War
Killed in Action: 40,934
Died of Wounds: 5,299
Missing in Action – Declared Dead: 1,085
Captured – Declared Dead: 116
Total Hostile Deaths: 47,434
Non-Hostile Deaths: 10,786
Total In-Theater Deaths: 58,220
Wounded in Action: Over 150,000
Missing: Approximately 1,600
I know there were many issues surrounding Vietnam but the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines that went there it was to defend democracy.
In just a half century we're yielding to the very forces we fought...Amazing
FWIW I was a pre-teen kid during Vietnam and my most vivid memory was watching the POW's come home.

Not even a quarter century ago, NYC was rocked by the largest and most deadly terrorist attack in history by radical Islamists.

The enemies from outside the US (communists/socialists/marxists) began arriving in the US over 150 years ago and many settled into academia. Now a marxist influenced academia has produced and unleashed tens of millions of their acolytes into society.

I know, and I thought about adding it to my OP but chose not to because of how many people left to defend our way of life and so many died and wanted to treat it separately

The didn’t die to stop communism. They died to protect American hegemony. “Stopping communism” is only the lie that that public was told.

My comment was only an aside for comparative purposes, and not to distract from your very valid opinion on the Vietnam War and modern communism.
Most of my friends' dads were USMC in Vietnam, and I've heard their stories through the years. They're beginning to depart this rock one by one, but the ones that remain certainly can't feel good about things. I know the very few remaining from the WWII Generation are beside themselves.
Most empires historically last around 250 years before collapse. We're at year 249.

And today, we have two Vietnams, side by side, North and South, exchanging and working. We may not agree with all that North Vietnam is doing, but they are living in peace. I would look for a better human rights record for North Vietnam, but they are living side by side.

Less than 1% would be voting for communists if energy prices were cut in half, there were plenty of jobs, grocery and utility costs were cut in half, houses and cars were affordable, and the dollar wasn't plummeting in value.

Name all the specific policies that could accomplish these things. Then narrow it down to the things Trump can unilaterally do without Congress
