This whole situation is ruining BK way more than LSU

LSU will be fine due to resources of recruiting and NIL. BK has just kissed himself to never coach again. And while he may get $35 mil or whatever it is, he’ll always be remembered for this stain. 15 years from now, this will be what people will remember him as. I would be shocked if he got another head coaching job at least at a Power 4.

I think BK stopped caring about his future and how he’s viewed a long time ago.

When we had doubts that he would fire House after the ‘23 defense.. that’s when I knew he wasn’t a serious coach anymore

BK knows his coaching career is behind him.

Brian Kelly just wants that 100 million. I am sure he’s well aware we know he squandered the opportunity and lived on the golf course. At this point his priority is taking the loot.

I don't see how this ruins BK more than LSU, all BK did was suck as a coach - and frankly what does he care, he's going to take his millions and ride off into retirement. LSU on the other hand looks like a dysfunctional mess. LSU will be stained with how they handled the situation after they fired him. Just pay him what you owe him and move the F on.

Maybe for LSU fans. The rest of the country isn't on LSU's side in this situation.

Plenty of Power 4 schools would hire BK.

BK intended for LSU to be his last real job and was already ruined as a coach by mid-season. That's why he wants the full payout.

This situation (the governors interference, the appearance that we want to evade payment 'for cause') degrades LSU more because we still need a good reputation as a great place to coach.

From a public perspective we look way, way worse.

I hate that little bitch with everything but when you sign a contract, you expect to get paid what was agreed upon.

End of story.

I don't call having $30 million in the bank "ruined."

He doesn’t want to coach again. Asking for $43m settlement, which also eliminates mitigation, tells you doesn’t want to coach, doesn’t want apply for positions and wants every penny owed to him. He could care less about this “stain” as you would feel the same if you were paid $43m-$54m at age 64.

this situation isn’t even close to the worst PR story in his career

Everyone already hated Brian Kelly for letting a kid die at a football practice. Plus he’s an a-hole. Him suing lsu to collect money isn’t even a blip on the radar for his legacy, although getting fired for not winning may be. He’ll still be rich though

BK is a senior citizen with millions of dollars

Even half his buyout means he never has to work again

Hell what he had before was enough to retire with millions

He doesn’t intend to coach again. He went ROAD on this job fairly early.

You think? I think that you had a situation where you fired a coach for performance and everybody on planet earth was well aware of this. Mostly because LSU officially informed them with real, official statements.

Now you want to not pay him and every coach is watching us do this which would make them pause before taking the job.

Brian Kelly was always going to get at least $53 mil. He still will, but now he's going to get more.
