Consulting with Mr. Chad Geepeetee...

I don't know contract law, so I consulted with the expert.
quote:
Termination for Cause – Relevant Clauses
The contract states that LSU may terminate the Head Coach for cause if he:
“(i) fails to comply with the terms and conditions of this Agreement or the policies, rules, or directives of the University, the LSU System, or the Athletic Director,”
or “
(xii) engages in conduct which, in the reasonable judgment of the University, brings the University or its athletic program into public disrepute, contempt, scandal, or ridicule.”
quote:
How This Applies to the Scenario
Refusing a Directive:
If the athletic director gives a direct order—for example, to dismiss an assistant coach—and Brian Kelly refuses, that refusal would be a clear violation of subsection (i):
“fails to comply with … the directives of the Athletic Director.”
Grounds for Termination:
Because this is explicitly listed under “for cause,” LSU would be legally entitled to terminate Kelly without paying his remaining buyout, provided they document that:
The directive was reasonable and within the AD’s authority, and
Kelly knowingly refused to comply.
Possible Discretion:
LSU could choose not to terminate but could instead treat it as a breach requiring corrective action or issue a formal reprimand. But from a contractual standpoint, the refusal gives them grounds for for-cause termination.

Ask Mr. Chad Geepeetee who the next coach will be.

Where is the confirmed reporting, not Tigerdroppings rumors, that Kelly refused to fire Sloan?
The only reports I have read were that Kelly wanted to fire Davis as well and was told no.
I have yet to see a credible media report that Kelly refused to fire someone.

It keeps getting repeated here as if this actually happened, but it didn't. Woodward and 3 others attended the meeting with Kelly to fire him. Woodward wouldn't need 3 witnesses to give a directive. Despite the drama that many want, it was a cordial meeting by all accounts.

LMFAO I would actually laugh if LSU presented something like this lmfao.

Okay, now we need Sloan's contract to see if his firing required Board approval. I'm guessing it did not.
