If so we got him right were we want him. He didnt coach this week, abandonment of duties, so now he can be fired for cause! BOOM!

Yes. This happens in business all the time.
You verbally agree on something, but you wait for the other party to formalize their position before you match it.
Kelly verbally agreed to negotiate. He's gone back on that.
LSU verbally agreed to negotiate. They are also now going back on that.
