It was a bad hire and a worse contract. Pay this prick his money and be done with it. Wash your hands of the whole tenure. Woodward is gone amd we have to clean this mess up.

LSU trying to weasel out of the contract is causing further embarrassment. Saying he wasn’t fired?

BK is a retard to not take a settlement with large up front payments and erase the look for a job clause.

So be it though pay him monthly for 6 years and let’s see if he holds up his end looking for a job. Once he doesn’t the payments stop

Agreed. The fact that the fighting has been made public makes us look terrible. Buy him out and move on. The longer this drags out, the worse our chances become of hiring a quality replacement.

Guys. LSU is poor. They don’t have the dough to make the payment.

time value of money dictates it is not all owed right now.

and it's widely known in football circles this dude did not GAF at all or try very hard.

all the pearl clutching around here is absurd. grow a pair, ninnies

LSU is going to frick around and end up having to pay him full freight all at once. His lawyer is going to go in front of a judge and pretty easily prove he was in fact fired. Then he’s going to show video of King Cajuns press conference. Then he’s going to petition the judge to force LSU to put the entire $52 million into escrow because he and Kelly do not have faith that they will see the payments out over 6 years and LSU has demonstrated a lack of trustworthiness

You guys are taking a lawsuit filed by a man who was just fired in order to posture and get a better immediately payable amount as a settlement as gospel?

Wow. Just let it play out.

No. When you fire a coach, you go to war. You go after them for anything and all things they have ever done in their lives. You go after their friends, you go after their family. You do whatever it takes to ensure that person cannot ever hold a job ever again. This is war and we are LSU. If you dare to coach here, then you dare to accept the consequences if you fail.

No judge in La is going to do that. For all our issues with corruption we will be fine.

Plus his lawyer does that he basically will have to retire, which at 30 percent maybe he can.

I think this gets resolved with just paying BK monthly and that arrogant loser will frick up and not look for a job

Can we ban everyone chirping this over & over once it’s shown to be untrue?

LSU is actually showing that they have a backbone. For all of you "bigger picture" guys... imagine someone offering to donate buyout money to you.. and then you just bend over and let the coach screw you... thereby screwing the donor out of an extra 54 million.. boy that'd go well for the future of our athletic program.

LSU is showing good faith to those willing to donate the money that the rest of us don't have.

PR is not what makes LSU relevant.
The new coaching hire is not what makes LSU relevant.

MONEY is what makes LSU relevant... especially in the NIL era. So, yes... do what it takes to show your boosters that you have their back.

It's pretty easy for you to say "just pay the guy" when its not your freaking money... and won't be in the future either.

Kelly agreed to negotiate just like he agreed to give a shite and try to win a national championship. He's betrayed the program on both fronts. This is what he gets. This is a long term win even from a PR standpoint for the university.

why do yall think we should just give him a lump sum?

thats stupid. the contract says it must be paid in equal installments for the remainder of the contract. Time value of money says you pay the monthly installments. If we are going to give him a lump sum, he will have to agree to a lower amount

some of yall are not good with money or math and it shows.

Calling it ‘weaseling out’ isn’t accurate. Whether LSU pays in installments or offers a lump sum, it’s still honoring the contract just like choosing between a lottery annuity or a cash payout. The two settlement offers were rejected by Kelly because, after taxes and potential investment growth, they were worth less than receiving the full installments. He hasn’t countered yet, but most likely this will end with a lump sum in the $35–$38M range.

Ha! The public isn't going to want to watch that a-hole! Hes just as unpopular nationally as he is in Louisiana... NDNation all hate his guts. What network will hire him? He's playing golf until the massive M.I.
