And, of course, the NFL outlawed that kind of block.

I miss the sound of a stadium exploding after a big hit like that.
Today anything resembling a big hit is followed with silence and people looking for a flag, and waiting to see if they will call targeting.

The fact we will never see a legal one again makes my heart hurt.

He came from his front side. That's a good block to me

That's irrelevant. If the blocker is moving counter to the flow of the play, it's illegal. It's fricking ridiculous.

Counter to the flow of the block?
Explain it to me like I'm JerryTheKingBrawler.

The best was when Jo-Lonn Dunbar does his "de-cleater"...

When Jamal Adams was at LSU he had a block on a punt return vs. Kentucky(?) where he destroyed a guy.

My football career was ended by absolutely blowing up a dude on a blindside block on a KO return.

My returner scored but I rocked this dude so hard that I tore my pec and never came back.

Love great blindside blocks still to this day.

I was a 165 pound pulling guard on a 3A team. We played some Monroe teams that had 280 pound DT's. Coming from the opposite side, hitting them low and putting those big guys on their butts was the only fun thing about playing offense.

My favorite was when Anthony Hargrove sent Kurt Warner into retirement during the playoff game.

That's why I have a special place in my heart for Hines Ward.

He could have hit him much harder. Went shoulder to shoulder. Did Pepper a solid on that one.
