You can’t tax a homeless man, he’ll just move, but Tax payers will pay for it to be torn down though.

This tells me there’s homeless people and there’s homeless people.
Not sure any of this dudes story and I don’t care really.
What I do hate is the “homeless” that are drugged out and get brought back to life constantly by Fire and EMS only to have them not learn a damn thing and get gov benefits.

If the guy is living in the home he built, is he really homeless?

Tremendous workmanship -- IF a beaver built it.
They say The Ladd & Tilton Bank Building in Portland was built in 1868 -- wht a beauty. This photo is from 1954 BEFORE THEY KNOCKED IT DOWN to build a parking lot.

You watch, with all the crazy Karens and Darons in Portland, he will be found out and lose it because of this video. He should have kept it quiet.

He said towards the end of the video that where it stand, between the water and the high liand, that its a grey area and he's ok even though it floods occasionally.

He said he has been there for 6 years, so apparently they don't give a crap.

I found it to be quite impressive for a layman's work. That baw is living his best life and doing it in a city that lets him get away with it. Kudos to him.
Also, there's the wood structure down there in the water from an old dock, great fishing spot, probably productive.
So there's the side of me that says "hey, you're productive and you've got skills- you should drop the "homeless" life now and join the workforce and live the dream. But there the other part of me that says, "but why? He got all that material from dumpster diving and built himself a respectable dwelling at zero cost. Major props."
As an aside, I laughed that the "bathroom" door to the outside obviously came from a tattoo parlor.
But yeah, when the city government sees this, he might as well kiss all his work goodbye. They're all about "helping the less fortunate" until one of the less fortunate takes some initiative to do things without the help of the city. They'll probably evict him, fine him thousands of dollars and he'll end up back on the streets with a needle in his arm in a week.

That looks like the spot where they finally track down and corner the dude killing all the teenage girls.

He should've built it up on stilts... or as a moored houseboat... but yeah, he found the loophole

Two feet of water in if for a week…
“It dried out.”

But they will shut your business down if your handicapped ramp is built at the wrong angle.
