Is this true?

I know that Kelly wanted to fire Davis this season, and Woodward said no which is incredible. Someone posted lasted night that he knew that Kelly wanted to fire Davis after last season and was told no. If this is true, Woodward's actions have caused major damage to the program, and Kelly should have walked at that time. Did Woodward have political ambitions and wanted Davis' support. It still amazes me that Davis still has a job. His lack of coaching is the major reason that our offense is terrible.

If even a little of that is true, Woodward deserved to be fired and should have been fired for cause without getting a single penny on his way out the door

I don’t think BK is the type of coach who wouldn’t want complete control over his staff

Lots of bad shite is coming out on Woodward and what he did to Orgeron. He initially hired Brad Davis to spy on Orgeron. Davis left and went to Arkansas and LSU hired him back. Kelly has wanted to fire Davis the last two years and Woodward would not let him. Orgeron is under a gag order and cannot comment on what Woodward did to sabotage him while he was head coach at LSU. John Bell Edwards got Woodward hired so Landry has no sympathy for him. Also, it came out the board of supervisors wanted to hire Some woke president from Arizona to replace Tate at LSU. Landry nixed the deal and told the board they had to hire Rouse who was named this week.

Makes you wonder if he was meddling at aTm and was part of why Jimbo failed there.

Woodward supposedly hired this defensive staff. He also was rumored to have picked pelini. He also told Tommy moffett he was safe. Maybe he should have been but that’s not his call and was a major reason for the fall out

Supposedly the story was Woodward made him keep davis. I think it is just as likely Kelly kept him for recruiting to keep Campbell and Jones but who knows.

It is odd a guy who has been known for his o lines would keep one holdover and that be the o line coach

Woodward pays a HC $10 million then immediately tries to run the program

That seems beyond insane. I'd want some proof because it would be so unfathomably stupid to do that I don't feel comfortable assuming it

I think Kelly's an overrated a-hole but my opinion would change sharply if he was dealing with that level of meddling. I'd probably be checked out too if I had that much guaranteed money AND my boss was fricking around and not letting me do my job.

It's possible. I know former AD Joe Alleva said in an interview that one of the reasons he hired Coach O was that he was "controllable". Apparently AD's have egos too.
It would be nice to know one day in the future. My opinion of BK is declining and likely continue. Don't understand why he could be successful except for LSU.

Well, Woody was fired, so let's move on from his crap.

Davis will be canned at the end of the season, no program in their right mind would keep him after what he put on the field.

The defensive staff side was 100% in either the Wilson Alexander advocate article or one of the Athletic articles.

It’s also kinda common sense.

Does Brian Kelly strike you as a guy who is going to swallow his pride quickly rehire multiple guys he fired two years prior?

To certain extent I agree…that’s a tough spot to be in as a coach. However, it doesn’t explain the disconnect that Kelly fostered with the players and program. If the stories we hear about Kelly are true.

You think Kelly would have “walked” and abandoned his contract because he wanted to fire an OL coach and was told no? Would you have walked away from a $100 million contract??

Wasn't Brad Davis who made Kelly not talk to recruits.
