How old are you in your own self reflection and does it match reality?

I’m 20-something in my head and realized this morning how old I really am…
I filled out an entire online survey request from a recent delivery order.

Evidently older than my 81 yr old dad who is always riding my arse about cleaning his gutters and helping with chores around his house. Caught him last week atop my 12’ step ladder pulling out a few sticks from his gutters. I just cleaned them out about two months prior.

gutters
Older folks tend to obsess about gutters for some reason.
Both men and women.
Could be tv ad or magazine ads always advertising gutters and leaf guards for gutters.
Also if there is any conceivable reason for them to get up on a step ladder, they will do it.
Some innate compulsion to climb up on a ladder.

Yup
Lemme go to the park and shoot some hoops, whack some fungos. See?? I'm still a young colt!
Couple hours later:

I jumped over a hot tub last night so my kid didn't fall in the pool.
I'm feeling it this morning. Every part of me aches.
So...20 vs 40?

Hahaha. I know that feeling. The mind is willing, but the body is weak. Icy Hot and Tiger Balm help. ??

I'd have to bathe in a tub of Icy Hot and Balm
My plan has been to stretch like a maniacal Gumby before and after the lube up the muscles and joints "playing" -- then hydrate like a camel, and pop a couple of aspirin and eat the leftover pain.
The body may be weak (or weaker), but dammit -- I refuse to yield totally for Father Time. Gotta use it else you lose it.

I take 2 baby aspirin and 10 grams of fish oil every morning.
Not exactly pleasant.

Mentally I'm still in my early 20s

Just wait.
A time will come when you look in the mirror and wonder who that old person is.

Already sorta there, pardner. Happens in a blink of an eye, doesn't it?
WARNING: Do NOT dare pull out the ol' HS yearbook.

I try my best to be patient with aged folks but at some point the generational differences and age gap just makes it impossible to get along with some older folks especially when their mental capacities start to deteriorate.

16 mentally, but late 30s adults call me sir and I think there are only one or two people I work with who've been around longer than me.
Biggest clue to me is when my kid talks about some singer and in response, I've become my dad: "Who the hell is that?"

It took me a very long time to realize that how I perceived myself to be versus how others perceived me to be were completely opposite of one another.
If you made a mistake or are about to make one, shed a light of reflection on it, and see God's love and wisdom there. I am stronger because I had to be. I’m smarter because of my mistakes, happier because I’ve known sadness, and wiser from all my lessons.
Divorce changed me. And I am "blessed" as one can be for going through it.
