20 yrs ago I had a client in La with timber property between Laura and meridian. He ended up registering 2-3 autos and getting a Ms drivers license so he could buy resident hunting licenses. I think it was $250/yr back then.

With as many Louisiana hunters around me north of Natchez and the number of Louisiana license plates at the local seed place buying pallets and pallets of corn I think the licenses are too cheap

yep. need to go to $5,000

SW MS is overrun with La hunters. Pull up a landowner map and all you see is LLC's from Mandeville, Denham Springs, BR. ect

Anything not owned and over 3acres is leased by a LA plate.

If a resident you either have passed down family land or hunt public.

I have a lifetime MS license thankfully. My son doesn’t. He’s in school in AR so he isn’t hunting but $500 for a non resident when you own the land is bullsh!t.

If both your parents were born in MS you can get a lifetime.

My wife was born in MS but I was born in TN so I was SOL for getting one for my son.

lol, MDWFP would be broke without La hunters and that’s a fact!

Hell some of these small towns probably rely on oos hunters durning hunting season.

My wife is a NR landowner in Louisiana. I have to pay $400 or so to hunt there. Just the way it is. Pay up and enjoy the hunting. Or only stay in your home state and hunt.

I screwed up and didn't buy a Louisiana lifetime license, I now have to pay $300+ to hunt my own land since I live in Texas.

I did this once in Louisiana then got a state income tax bill that was over $1,800.00, they got me good.

I fought it but ended up having to pay it because they blocked me from renewing my license until it was paid.

We filed for an extension this year because of my wife’s business. Tried to renew my lic and it would not let me online even though we had paid all taxes the week before Oct 1st .
Had to call LDWF to get it sorted out. There is no way a crawfisherman from bayou sorrel with 3 baby mommas
Is getting a Lic with the new system.

If you are a landowner, regardless of where, you should not be forced to buy ANY license to hunt YOUR property

Especially "Out Of State" fees when you own land in the state and pay property taxes.

10-4 I just looked

Louisiana has one too but it's only 10 days, I guess I could buy one every time I go for way less than $300.00

Dramatic NR fees, like $1,200 for an elk tag, are essentially anti hunting. Say a relative or friend is in town from out of state for a days, and might try hunting with you, but they don’t want to pay several hundred dollars to give it a try.
