The Trump administration told states it will begin paying full SNAP benefits.
The memo came the same day as the administration asked a federal appeals court to block a judge’s order that it fully pay 42 million Americans those food stamp benefits for November.
The administration asked the 1st Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals to allow its plan to pay 65% of the food stamp benefits this month from a contingency fund.
The request came a day after Judge Jack McConnell issued an order in U.S. District Court in Rhode Island rejecting the partial payment option.

Justice Department lawyers wrote in the filing that instead of Congress passing new SNAP funding, “a single district judge has devised his own solution: ordering USDA to cover the SNAP shortfall by transferring billions of dollars that were appropriated for different, equally critical food-security programs —and to do so within just one business day (i.e., by today).”
“This unprecedented injunction makes a mockery of the separation of powers,” the lawyers wrote. “Courts hold neither the power to appropriate nor the power to spend. Courts are charged with enforcing the law, but the law is explicit that SNAP benefits are subject to available appropriations.”
Damn wish they'd held the line.

So fricking tired of this bullshite.
Trump shouldn't pay a fricking dime to the 21 states that refuse to give their SNAP rolls to ensure no illegals are getting benefits.

We are all being played
I want to eliminate SNAP and if those people starve, I don’t care.

I mean, pay it or don’t.
But Dems will take credit for getting SNAP paid for now. And it’ll work.

Trump has no one backing him, just like last time. Much like congress fricked him on the wall, Obamacare and much, much more, they will frick him on this. They are globalists with fat portfolios and election funds full of overseas money.

That's the thing. They won't starve.
They'll go to food banks and churches. And when they realize that's not really the food they want and not quite enough, they'll do what they should have done all along - they'll go to work.

the other thing I hate about this decision is that it emboldens judicial idiocy like that judge who told Trump he had until today to pay SNAP
Posted on 11/7/25 at 5:11 pm to bigjoe1
How about we just pay for the people born in America. That will cut Snap by more than half.

Only about 70% of SNAP recipients are elderly, disabled, or children.
So screw them! I don't care if they starve!

Rather than letting them starve Trump should let them all loot Walmart and have the ghost of Sam Walton deputize us as some kind of citizens brigade

That common sense idea has literally been programmed out of many, many people - quite a few amongst us here. I don’t know what they’re gonna do when he’s no longer President. Their usefulness to the bad guys will have expired.

Is it possible to disagree without personal attacks? Please try.
And according to the USDA LINK my statement is true:
But if you have a better source than the federal agency that administrators SNAP, please share it. Thanks.
And according to the USDA LINK my statement is true:
quote:
SNAP supports children, the elderly, and individuals with a disability.
In FY 2023, four in five (79%) SNAP households included either a child, an elderly individual, or a nonelderly individual with a disability. These households contained 88% of all SNAP participants and received 83% of all SNAP benefits. See figure below.
About 39% of SNAP participants were children, 20% were elderly, and 10% were nonelderly individuals with a disability.
But if you have a better source than the federal agency that administrators SNAP, please share it. Thanks.

Define “disabled.”
You are a tool and a fool.
On another note, why did you leave DU?
