I can’t be the only one. Called the dealership, they said “give us a couple months, we have to send our techs to school”…… this should go well.

From what I understand, they are incrementally recalling every vehicle with the V35A engine to replace the whole thing. They recall when they have supply to do it. Next year they will likely recall 2024 models outside of the latest recall window + hybrid models that weren't already rebuilt.
In May they recalled about 105,000 trucks. This week they recalled 125,000 more. They aren't done yet.
The V35A has been the worst engine on the market right now at least until they adjusted the design and manufacturing processes a year or so ago. The failure rate is astounding considering it's a fairly low volume engine compared to the Ford Ecoboost, GM Small Block, or Chrysler HEMI.
It's surprising considering the 4.0L V6 and 4.7L V8 - both Toyota engines - are some of the most reliable you could buy in the last 20 years.

4.0L V6 and 4.7L V8 -
---OK, if you get these engines, no recall. Right?

My carpooler just had his engine replaced this week. It's all part of a recall

I’m glad I did my research and got a lightly used 2020. It rocks.

You sure about that? I had zero issues with my '22 tundra and got a brand new engine at 55k.
Wanna talk about the GM 6.2L? The one that GM put a stop sell on? They're blowing up. If you have one and it blows they'll fix it. If it doesn't blow they won't.
then we can go into transmissions.

At least Toyota will replace it…. Unlike my F150 transmission.

Recently bought a POS GMC truck, was thinking about making the jump into a POS Toyota truck.
Is it just the internet and social media that we have now compared to years ago but there are horror stories about all manufactures now. Alot of bad stories of electronic issues or mechanical issues with all the makers, toyota, gm, ford, dodge. Don't know where to turn nowadays to find a good reliable truck

I was hoping that now that Trump was in office, they would go back to the old reliable V8 for the Tundra and a V6 (non-turbo) for the Tacoma. Apparently, wishful thinking.
