This is the perfect opportunity to be out front and center hammering this garbage.

Of course, but they'll put the demon Schumer out front and center with his lies every other hour.

Because they don't have a healthcare policy of their own.
Trump has been saying he will release his healthcare plan in "2 weeks" for over 10 years now.

This is the answer.
They’ve been bitching and moaning about it for over a decade and haven’t even attempted to do shite frick about it.
The GOP is fricking useless.

They're all taking money from pharmaceutical and healthcare lobbyists. The Dems are all in and the GOP is too scared to face it head on and lose that money.

But the GOP Congress members, with few exceptions, are more impotent than Richard Simmons at a playboy model nudist colony.
That's why eliminating the filibuster for this crowd would be a disaster. They are a collection of know-nothing, do-nothing worthless dolts.

Because the Affordable Care Act is actually pretty popular. It allows people who otherwise don’t have access to health insurance to get covered.
I’m old enough to remember when health insurance companies wouldn’t cover people for “pre-existing conditions,” which was a complete scam. The ACA actually forbids that practice, which was a game changer for so many Americans.
Trump keeps saying that he wants healthcare to be cheaper and better but I don’t m own how they are going to do without an individual mandate.

The Affordable Care Act gifted insurance companies a virtual coverage monopoly in various geographic regions. As is always the case, prices rise sans competition.
Meanwhile, the Affordable Care Act allows people who otherwise would have to pay for their own insurance, to have others pay most of their premium costs instead. But Obamacare is such an awful and inefficient program that now, even the small portion those supplemented folks are left to pay is deemed too expensive.

How people forget . . .
Trump had every opportunity to gut Obamacare the first time he was elected. He did nothing. I think that was the largest failure of his first presidency, especially the first two years of it when he had the votes.
Now, it is too large and too woven into our society. And, I’ve seen no alternative.
People, especially self-employed people (and many others) now have few choices. Yes, it is a dumpster fire for our economy and healthcare cost, but it scares the shite out of people to not know how they and their families are covered.
It’s not all black-and-white. I mean if you have an accident tomorrow that leaves you disabled, there is a two-year waiting period for Medicare, what do you think you do during that time? And that is only for you. What if you’re a single parent? How are your children covered? Medicaid?
You think making cuts have hurt Republicans now? Obamacare has become so large, that any cuts made without a true, well thought-out alternative choice, will never get Republicans elected again.

McCain was dying of brain cancer and instead of retiring to live out the remainder of his days in peace and comfort he chose to stick around and screw the American people one last time. What an awful person he was.

Wait, you mean mccain is gone? I thought he was still out touring the country, that corpse has more miles on it than king Tut.

Its not just the aca, which is garbage, its these additions which are sunsetting.....
This is when blue cities moved their retiree health plans to the aca and saved themselves a fortune and put the burden on the rest of the country.
Here is just the city of Chicago.....

Yes, several significant additions and enhancements to the Affordable Care Act (ACA) were implemented during the COVID-19 pandemic through separate legislative packages, primarily the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) of 2021 and the CARES Act.
This is when blue cities moved their retiree health plans to the aca and saved themselves a fortune and put the burden on the rest of the country.
Here is just the city of Chicago.....
quote:
Chicago moved its city retirees to the ACA (Affordable Care Act) to eliminate a $2.1 billion unfunded retiree healthcare liability, with the specific savings being the shift of costs from the city to federal taxpayers. In 2013, the city was expected to spend $194 million on retiree health subsidies, a figure projected to grow to $540 million by 2023. The ACA allows these retirees, who are too young for Medicare, to get insurance through federal subsidies, thereby shifting the financial burden of their health coverage to the U.S. government.

Trump needs to be hammering this. Trump makes headlines. Mike Johnson doesn't.

You think it's a scam because you don't know what the word insurance actually means. I'll let 808bass explain it to you because he does a better job than anyone
quote:
If I don’t have insurance, and I get cancer and then I go to get insurance to get covered for my cancer, that cancer is a pre-existing condition.
Same with diabetes. Or arthritis. Or allergies. Or pretty much any health condition.
Insurance is predicated on the idea of unknown risk. Me needing complex, ongoing care and then deciding that I should have someone else pay for it isn’t in any way shape or form insurance
quote:
Covering pre-existing conditions is a huge driver of increased costs to the system.
Pre-existing conditions aren’t just congenital. And covering them adds a perverse incentive to people to not have insurance until they need it, which is the opposite of insurance.

I have voted GOP my whole life.
I’m 100% sure they have no idea how to fix healthcare and aren’t really interested in trying.
