Marty (played by Caleb McLaughlin) would discover Juvi and Lil Wayne after giving Birdman the idea for CashMoney records by winning a rap battle at the school dance.

He’d make a joke about paying to skip commercials instead of dealing with cable television at family dinner and claim to have already seen Toy Story.

After ignoring a warning by Neil Degrass Tyson (who plays Doc) that due to the nature of rotation of the earth he won’t end up in the same global position in the past, he activates the Time Machine in his Tesla Cybertruck in 2025 in California but arrives in 1995 in downtown Oklahoma City slamming into the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building.

He has to get his parents to grind their windbreakers together to I wanna be with you at the Hootie and the Blowfish concert

I think sometimes ‘method’ actors can come across assholish b/c it’s a very unnatural approach to the work.. though sometimes (Daniel Day Lewis) it can be extremely effective .. i saw an interview with Lea Thompson a while back where she said Stoltz had a MUCH different interpretation of the script.. iirc she said he looked at it as a dark tragedy about an innocent teenaged boy trapped inside a mysterious world in 1955, that he could not escape .. maybe she was being nice, but she said he’s an excellent actor (i dont disagree) who just did not fit the tone of what the film was trying to achieve.. to say that she was correct, and that MJ Fox fit the role perfectly- would be a massive understatement .
