I will probably go to the one in Auburn, the atmosphere will be electric (as it usually is at Auburn for big games)

On paper ND's schedule in 2027 and 2028 looks legit
2027: Auburn, GT, Clemson, and VT all look to be solid. Also have Purdue, Michigan State, Wake Forest, and Navy for now.
2028: Auburn, Texas, Arkansas, VT, Clemson, Miami, and Pitt. Also have Navy and BC scheduled.
But the narrative will still be they don't schedule anyone.
ETA: 2029 looks even better with Bama, Texas, GT, Florida St, and Clemson

Their future schedules look tough. But the schedules over the last 10 years were generally weak.
But I would bet my house the Brian Kelly made the weak schedules for himself. And Freeman has more balls to schedule tougher teams.

I commend Auburn for this. Notre Dame needs an sec or two to help prop up that fake schedule…
But idk why Auburn would do this. 9 game schedule now

There it is. Damned if they do, damned if they don't. ND Derangement Syndrome.

Because why not try to add one more quality win to the schedule instead of beating up on an FCS school. Being scared to schedule a good team OOC is mentally weak thinking.

Good on Auburn.
Hopefully other SEC schools take note and stop trying to back out of big OOC games due to the 9 game conference schedule.

Isn't there a soft mandate in place for SEC teams to have one P5 non conference? There is this weird thought amongst some fans that 10 P5 games is a bad idea. Phasing out the cupcakes is the best thing to happen to college football in an era where there seems to be so much going wrong.

Auburn has time to fire at least 2 more coaches before then

Auburn will ship this game to Atlanta.

This. Those cupcakes got a free ride on the back of teams people actually watched for years
Now some G5s have potential, particularly in Western states, but most don’t

I’m going to go to the game in South Bend. Been waiting forever for them to get on our schedule.

Will Auburn be a win or loss in 2027’s Notre Dame 10-2 playoff season?

I’m no ND apologist, but they literally did that this year…

Few on this board pay attention to ND's schedule, fewer still watch their games.
If you asked most, they'd say "ND plays Army, Navy, Coast Guard, Stanford, USC and then a bunch of FCS schools!"

And when they whip Auburn, who has become a mid level talent program no matter how many coaches they go thru, they won’t get any credit while every SEC fan will be arguing how tough Auburn is because they won a Natty 17 years ago.
