Verge just now said there is no shot Saban comes back to coach.

Moscona asked Verge flat out about the Saban rumors. Verge said he talks to Saban every few weeks and are good friends. Said no way his wife would even allow it and that time has run its course. Mentioned he would snatch Saban up if he thought it was a possibility. Also the new President is the one other guy they were waiting on as part of the search committee.

Exactly. When I said that shite wasn’t happening I got downvoted. Dude is 74 has a waaaay less stressful gig with espn that lets him stay close to the game. He wasnt going to come back.

Moscona asked if the candidate had to have head coaching experience. Verge said their preference would be that they have already had head coaching experience. Head coach has over 140 staff members plus the over 100 players. It’s a large organization. Wants the coach to be a good fit in that he has to be able to communicate with the players, has a presence, build relationships with the players and understand how much LSU football means to the state of Louisiana.
