Sporting News say Kiffin will stay at Ole Miss

I think most of us pretty much knew that. I think Lane Kiffin would have been a good hire for LSU but he isn't the only good coach in college football. Eliminating Saban also which was ridiculous IMO to begin with...the guy is 73 years old and left coaching because of the transfer portal and NIL. Those two factors in college football are only getting more extreme every year.
I still like Lea at Vandy or Key at Georgia Tech but the problem with them is they are coaching where they played football. Same with Brohm at Louisville.

Nobody currently knows anything one way or another.

If this is what you're talking about, I highly doubt it should be taken at face value. Of course they're telling recruits he's staying, but the reality is if he was so locked in, he'd have signed the extension that was offered two weeks ago. At the very least, he's not making any decisions until December.

Sounds like we are down to Sumrall or Matt Campbell

In the sporting news article you reference…

I’d love Matt Campbell
That’s the recipe that we used for Saban and Miles… go after a coach that has done well at a secondary school in a state…..and he’s actually done better at that secondary school than Saban and Miles did at MSU/OSU

I didn’t know Sporting News was still a thing

Actually, it is more than one recruit...an ESPN reporter...and the Sporting News article author. It is NOT just "a recruit". Reread the article...you skipped a few lines.

Lane seems to be in a great spot with his personal life in Oxford. There’s no reason to leave.

C'mon man. The "if" you reference is in reference to a rare situation in college football....not like it is really that possible that he leaves. The bold faced headline says "Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin reportedly locked in for the future in Oxford". You have taken the if Kiffin stays completely out of context. The article is not remotely written with the "if" meaning the way you think.

His current deal runs through 2029 and is extended by a year every time he wins 7 games. I’m sure Ole Miss would like to get him signed now being that his buyout is only $3m.
