I'm all in on riding this rumor and given the poster, it's got a some legitimacy so why not.

But I won't get my hopes up because everything just points to, why?

He really doesn't need the money.

He certainly does't need it for the legacy.

NIL / recruiting is still in a place he hates overall.

Coming back here and being successful would tarnish is Bama legacy a little.

The only thing that makes any conceivable sense is that he knows he left too early for a job in Miami he wished he never took and knows he could've built a dynasty here.

Maybe that, mixed with seeing our program in somewhat disarray at the moment makes him want to come in and save the day.

frick it, I'm down to dream.

Dude's riding off into the sunset with a bag of cash and the GOAT legacy intact.

I’ve always thought Saban was going to die on a field yelling at a former head coach that’s now an intern on his staff.

I think it would be a great short term bridge (3-5years) to help usher in a new era and would finally let him close that LSU chapter properly.

It would help LSU stabilize the program itself and fix any holes from the previous regimes.

Does he feel disrespected that people assume he couldn't win in the NIL era?

Does he feel slighted by the fan base he won all of those championships for because so many of them believe those titles were "built by bama" which implicitly lessens his importance?

Saban is a legacy guy sure, but he's also a respect guy? Question is, does he feel disrespected enough to prove people wrong again

This is fun as hell.

But logical? I think of course LSU offered (they would be stupid not to) but he probably isn’t coaching again and these are all just rumors spiraling out of control.

But until we announce our next coach, I am enjoying the hell out of the rumors, smoke and “sauces”.

He loves LSU and still regrets how he left. He's a legend at Bama and would have been a legend here. This is his chance. If money ever motivated him, it doesn't any more, he has more than his kids and grandkids can ever spend. Legacy is what matters now.

He's too old, and it's too much money. If it happens, it won't end well.

Why would he come to LSU? Plus, bonus questions- isn’t he getting too old? He’s 74! Would he be able to do this all over again?

And knowing that he could still be successful in NIL era but not doing it yet.

Coaches like Saban never want to stop competing. He ran out of “why” at bama. He set them up for long term success as he was losing interest.

His history with LSU and LSU’s inherent potential may offer him the “why” he needs to give it one last run.

Don't ever say that about someone who grew up in Appalachia. They don't understand that train of thought

He’s 74 and retired for a reason. Throwing an ungodly amount of money at him may be another BK level mistake.

And even if he comes, he’s here for at best 3 years? Then what

He is no question the GOAT, but he is old and tired and we should move on

I do agree. One of the only logical reasons he comes back to coaching is boredom.

That it makes this fanbase look desperate and delusional. It’s sad really that there are 437 Saban post. It’s been 20 years let it go. Move on hire the next Saban. UGA did. Clemson Did. UGA
