Here’s hoping against hope that the McManiacs have something to get excited about! Doubtful, but a guy can hope right?

I'm ready
If nothing else it gets us one step closer to ridding ourselves of McChicken

I would guess it’s a top 5 selling sandwich at McDonald’s. It probably isn’t going anywhere. Not sure what college basketball has to do with this though.

hoping McSUCK continues to mcSUCK, and now that we have new leadership coming in, BRING BACK THE GENERAL.

McMaction starts Wednesday vs a HS team

McMid is on borrowed time with Woodward gone now.

I'll NEVER hope LSU "sucks"...because losing sucks. However, with a new AD and President coming in (and the powers that be driving that change) I suspect barring a significant NCAA Tournament run, not just barely making it as a high seed, this will be McMahon's last year. In not so insignificant part, the reason there will be a new President and AD is because last year was not McMahon's last season.

season ticket holder but won't be at the first game. Would rather watch Rocky lV at cinnmark on the fifth. Only been season ticket holder for 15 years and MM gives me the least excitement of any coach I can remember. Johnny Jones, Trent Johnson wasn't even this bad

What's the outlook for the Tigers this year? I honestly haven't kept up with the roster/transfers etc.

Not great. Better than last year but still a bottom half caliber SEC team

I hope he McShocks everyone and has a deep run in the tournament. Barring that, I hope he is McGone after this season.

Why would he leave a significantly better basketball school for LSU?

I think if they make the big dance I think it is enough to keep him. That's big improvement. I don't hope they suck to get rid of him....I hope they do well and they all turn the corner this season.

I am always hopeful, but hope seems all I have. I have had season tickets to MBB since 1976, right after I graduated.
At least I have firm confidence that the WBB team (own season tickets there too) will be a top 4 team in the SEC and top 10 team in the nation.

I just hope zipper plays at some point.
This isn’t the first time we’ve had bizarre absences under McMahon’s tenure and, to make things worse, not much reasoning or explanation behind it.
Remember when McMahon claimed he couldn’t find a good time to get Tyrell Ward in the game when he began as a true freshman? Or cook, who I suppose was an issue independent of McMahon, but now we have another guy who mysteriously isn’t playing…
It’d be different if zipper were a third-stringer (maybe he is but I doubt it), but I think he should help this team. And the preseason projections suggest we need ad much help as we can get

I'm not ready to go full bore that he will be a difference maker for this team. But I agree, McMahon has had a history of leaving guys on the bench for seemingly no reason while the losses piled up. I think more than anything, it speaks to his lack of understanding the basketball climate that exist today. Very few players are redshirting. Yet, many times he's seemingly kept guys out to "develop" them slowly, even though they are unlikely to stay more than 2 -3 years.
In year 1 Ward and Phillips sat for 2/3rds of the season while LSU lost game after game. When they finally did start playing, they at least showed some production. In year 2, despite LSU having some struggles defensively and rebounding, Chest was left to sit on the bench. In fact, Chest wasn't going to play much in year 3 until Fountain was an unexpected scratch before the K-State game and Chest was forced to play. All he did was get something like 11 rebounds in 13 minutes. Last year it was Mike Williams who, somehow, was good enough to start 20+ games as a freshman and avg nearly 8 ppg in SEC play, yet not good enough to get minutes for a bad team last year?

This thread is strange. It is currently football season which is followed by baseball season.

looking forward to a mctournament appearance

It’s one of his weird practices where he’ll only play a specific number of guys and won’t budge off of that number regardless of the situation. It’s bizarre and doesn’t help to win games.
