did he help torpedo BK's stay at LSU? Since the second half start of the ole miss game, his defense has given up what, 49 second half pts in their 3 losses? But in their 5 wins, they've only given up 47 TOTAL pts, unless they're was a pick 6 or special teams score.

I get the BK and Sloan hate, but the defense really shite the bed in the Vandy and ole miss loss.

Whit Weeks was a huge loss

The front has been a disappointment, even with a few injuries.

Maybe it was out of his control. Maybe the players just quit on BK

At this point, him being out is really more of an impact if say... Perkins were out. Can we trade?

But in their 5 wins,

14-19 combined record for the FBS opponents in the 4/5 wins.

Aka Baker’s defense is good vs shite opponents and mediocre at best vs good ones.

I watched bits and pieces of the Ole Miss game last night and noted that Ole Miss’ DC? Golding, dialed up s defense with thd teo inside DL spying on the SC QB that gave us trouble and just rushing the two DEs. That looked very successful. They sacked him or hurried him a lot. We couldn’t hardly bring him down.

Bring Kiffin and Golding

Sure seemed Blake rolled his eyes toward BK often on the sidelines. Appeared to be a lot of discord between BK and everyone else. Maybe a toxic environment is the cause for the d not being what we thought it would.

If your defense goes from elite to subpar at the absence of one player, that's a problem.

Whit didn’t play well his last 2-3 games less social media, less throwing up and how about tackling and covering!
Whit & Perk have been trending down versus up in there last 2-3games they played!
Perk is invisible and no effort

In BK’s tenure here he only had 2 players who could ever rush the passer consistently from the edge (Ojulari and Swinson) and the idiot didn’t even play Swinson until last year because of his stupid arse loyalty bs to that terrible Notre Dame grad transfer DE.

Good grief. The most asinine things get thrown out on here by people who are somehow convinced they’re right.

Probably sabotaged BK. You would think having a 5-6 game stretch of going up against mobile QBs you would expect the defense to be prepared to contain the QB but the failed for 4-5 weeks straight. The secondary was good. What killed this defense was the containment discipline and over aggressive blitzes.

I never praised Baker nor have I dumped on him. I HAVE said that when you are ranked near the bottom in the national defensive rankings like Tom Haus had LSU, then "average" becomes the messiah. And I also said that LSU's first 4 opponents really skewed this year's defensive rankings. An overrated Clemson team, La Tech and SELA, and a Florida where Lagway clearly was too green to really be a factor vs LSU.

The main negative I have said this year and last year is that he seems utterly incapable of stopping a dual threat QB. LSU "stopped" Sellars of SC twice but only because they knocked him out at halftime last year when he was killing them in the 1st half and this year, Kentucky had knocked him out of the 2nd half before the LSU game. But I'm still waiting for him to contain a healthy dual threat QB..hasn't happened in 2 years..

This defense is just not that good. Way overhyped.
