LSU should be in the playoffs every year

I said this before, and had a lot of kick back and excuses about how hard is to do that

frick that nonsense

LSU should be expected to be at least the 12th team in the country every year

And if you don’t expect that
You should not be a part of this program

Go Tigers!

God Bless America!

no it was hard to make the final 2 like miles and saban and final 4 like orgeron

we did not even drop to a 8 team playoff which is what we should have.

12 teams is a fricking joke and choker kelly could not make that in 2 straight years

absolutely we should make a 12 teamer each year

Well if Woody had hired Lane in 21 I have a feeling we’d have had multiple appearances by now.

Disaster hire.

The goal should be to win championships not just get into the playoffs.

I can forgive a miss every few years, things happen. But not making it once in 4 years is unacceptable.

Paul Mainieri had LSU as a top 8 national seed 6 years straight. LSU football should have runs like that every now and then.

You have to be in the top 8 or win the SEC.

Well, Louisiana’s authoritarian governor is trying to turn our program into a low-budget operation….so it might become more difficult over the next few years.

Although we would like to be, 58, 03, 07, 11 and 19. Thats 5 times in 67 years. It's hard to understand how "we should be in the playoffs" every year? Based on what? Talent? Every SEC school and many other schools got talent. We have had so many NFL players come from LSU but yet the disparity of lack of playoffs/title games proves that this is a "team sport" more than individuals. Facts. He should be focused on what "makes a team" be successful every year. Look from within and you'll find the re occuring problem.

No , he had a point … tremendous guaranteed salary and very poor performance . Not the first time Woody Woodpecker did that , just ask A&M .

What a waste this year is. We only needed a slightly above average season to be in the playoffs. But we had one of the worst coaching staffs in the country.

No team is going to make the playoffs every year for the next 10 years. But making the playoffs should be the threshold for a moderately successful year. Missing one out of every four or five is still good. But making the playoffs isn’t the only thing; we should be competitive in them and bring home the championship every decade or so.

I see this said, but it hasn't been true for any coach at LSU, just looking at the CFP/BCS rankings before the bowl games. Miles and Saban were probably closest. The period from 2001- 2012 was phenomenal, though 9 of 12 seasons in the top 12 plus 1 top 13

Saban - 2 of 5 seasons (2003, 2004), #13 in 2001 as well, a loss to an Ole Miss team that was mediocre at best in Tiger Stadium, would have cost LSU a playoff spot had there been a 12-team playoff.

Miles 7 of 11.33 seasons (2005, 2006, 2007,2009,2010, 2011, 2012)

O 2 of 5.67 seasons (2018, 2019)

Kelly 0 in 3.5 seasons, #13 in 2023, if we beat Ole Miss or FSU, and LSU is safely inside of top 12

11 times in 24 years, plus 2 top 13 finishes that included at least 1 loss we could or should have won.

I think it is reasonable to say that in any 6 years, we should expect to make a 12-team playoff 3-4 times if we look at the scope of the last 24 years. I will say we should almost always be in the conversation at this point in the season.
