I really think you NEED a coach who has been a coordinator

Not even to take over plays in the worst case scenarios but to have shown that strong understanding of scheme and strategy

One of the things i like most about kiffin is how his offensive scheme has adapted over the years from a very pro style offense at USC a very modern spread.

It’s also why guys like Sumrall and Key make me nervous.

Yea I think it should be the most important thing. Let other people handle the off the field stuff. I want the coach to coach. Idc if he's an offensive or defensive guy but just get someone that can lock down one side

His OC, Faulkner, isn't getting mentioned enough. Stetson Bennett was underrated

Don’t know the ranking of these but these are the prerequisites/questions that dictate someone being a hire or not:

he must be a bad arse on one side of the ball.
Who will be on your staff?
Tireless recruiter

I know, my $.02 is worth zero.

Whichever side of the ball it is, I’m 100% convinced they need to hire someone who can lock one side of it down and get some consistency. Forcing a hit on both coordinators has plagued LSU for a long time. We haven’t had a coach that can do that since Saban. Crazy to think about really. It’s the most important thing to me. Recruiting isn’t as important as it once was with it basically just being about money now, but a close second would be a coach that brings a ton of energy and swag back to the program, which is why I hope it’s Lane. If not, we need to find a young driven proven offensive minded coach and move forward. I’ll take a defensive one, but preference is offense in this day and age.
