New actress playing “Mary” in the upcoming Passion of the Christ sequel is in hot water

Looks like Gibson has a new problem on his hands. How the frick does Gibson, whose a traditionalist right wing Catholic, allow someone like this to get a role in the sequel to one of the biggest religious films of all time?
Sounds like they were desperate for an actress once they found out it would be too difficult to digitally de-age Maia Morgenstern. They were too quick in the re-casting process and now it’s starting to rear it’s head.
This could massively backfire on Gibson considering the audience that will be going to see this film. I don’t know what he saw in this actress, but she must have been talented enough to make up for the immaturity. That’s the only take away I can make from this.

Mel Gibson’s choice to play the Virgin Mary in the upcoming film, The Resurrection of the Christ, is sparking backlash online. Gibson has cast the Polish Italian actress, Kasia Smutniak. Smutniak is pro-choice, and her casting has prompted backlash in Poland, which has one of the most restrictive abortion laws in Europe.

Smutniak regularly shares political content on her Instagram and has shared multiple pro-Palestine posts, including advocating for a ceasefire. Polish media outlets have reported that the country’s conservative pro-life Law and Justice party has been writing to Gibson’s Icon Production to protest her casting, citing her support for the Strajk Kobiet, which campaigns about Poland’s abortion laws.

I don’t know. But could it be because this is a movie and she’s is acting?
If she nails the role, why do her personal opinions matter at all?

Im very surprised Mel Gibson allowed this to happen

If all he had were Christian actors, he'd never get a movie made. Maybe this is Mel's way of spreading the Gospel. She might be better off for it & closer to Christ.

Now that I realize it, I think Mel is trying to refrain from making it a “propaganda” film and more so of an original piece of artwork with great acting.
Gibson takes filmmaking extremely seriously; he wants the best of the best when it comes to who acts in his films. For him, it’s about creating greatness. Kind of like a legendary NFL or college football coach who only wants to play the best of the best on his teams.

A pro-choice, pro-peace actress? I’m shocked. SHOCKED I tell you.

Word is that she’s not a virgin either. Crazy casting.

He needed a female in Hollywood.
Good luck finding an actress that is not a pro abortion Palestinian sympathizer.
