Disney+ has dropped Doctor Who

Apparently the show runners and the BBC thought, for some odd reason, that Disney+ was gonna make the new Doctor Who into the next Stranger Things. Of course, that didn’t happen.
I tried it because Tennant became the Doctor again when it first appeared on Disney+. I had skipped the show during the Jodie Whittaker years and wanted to give it another shot.
I don’t care what people watch, but, it was soooo far beyond what I want to spend my time streaming - meaning it was to the point of being cringe with the wokeness.
I just didn’t want to watch it beyond that episode - not my cup of tea at all - even worse than Whittaker.
Apparently the ratings dove so bad that Disney doesn’t want it either.

I remember watching Tom Baker play him. They should bring him back he's only 91

*Who Knows?
*Absolute peak 'cameo' through out TV history, imo.
But yeah, Chibs and then angry, bitter Russel T Davies sealed the doom for Doctor Who.
RIP.

I really tried to make it through her seasons when it was announced that Tennant was coming back. Got through 2 seasons. There might have been 2-3 decent episodes, no great ones.
Then I found out the Tennant episodes were even worse, so I gave up.

You were actually making sense till you got to this part. I miss when this board used to have legit movie discussions back in the day before Poli Board rhetoric took over and anything that had a woman, person of color, or LGBTQ person in it was automatically labeled “woke” as if that’s even a bad thing to begin with. Oh well. It’s whatever, I guess.

Piss off. Anyone who has kept up with Doctor Who news knows it's wokeness has been tanking the show for seasons now.

I don't believe Disney were the problem when it came to Doctor who...the problem was Russell T Davis

Good Lord.
You invoke all these groups ONLY if they believe in the culture that you demand those groups abide by: A “superior-thinking” progressive ideology where any opposite stance is followed by cancellation, disdain and labeling those as bigots, etc. That is what the word “wokeness” has transformed in to.
The truth is that it has ZERO to do with culture, race, identity, color, orientation, etc. - but when you twist those things and attempt to absolutely (with no other way of thinking) FORCE viewers into this “no debate” ideology, you lose viewers and people who may at one time given some sympathy to your cause (like I did at one point).
Btw, I happen to know people within these groups as well - but I’m sure progressives won’t acknowledge them since they don’t follow the idea of how they SHOULD think. My wife (a woman obviously) is the most conservative person I know -much more than me. I have gay family members who hate the TQ+ they are forced to be labeled as - and don’t get them started on pronouns and rainbows. One of my best friends (for the last 30 years) is black, and a republican.
Some of the best TV/Movie shows we talk about here (Paradise, Peacemaker, Stranger Things, etc.) have those groups you identified - yet they don’t reek of a “My Way or the Highway” belief being forced onto people.
So, when a show does do that - I’ll turn it off - it doesn’t appeal to me at all, and apparently to a growing number of people. But to write that we don’t watch or want to watch, because of a certain group, is asinine.

You’re intellectually dishonest

Then you fell for the bait. Tennent wasn't the 'same' Doctor as had been before, and as a person, Tennent had changed significantly since he played the proper 10th Doctor. Current day politics, the BCC, his own trans kid... all factors into making most of the old crew bitter, spiteful and void of any of the creative joy they had put into the show years ago.
You can never go home again.

Don't blame people for pointing out what Hollywood has admitted it's doing. When they promote something based primarily on their social virtue signaling (example: Whittaker's Doctor was primarily promoted as "the first FEMALE Doctor! OMGZ!!!11"), how is it wrong for viewers who aren't part of that group to acknowledge that it does not interest them?
I don't disagree that there can be kneejerk reactionaries who have no other critique than that, but you have to work harder to NOT find it these days than you do to find it. This is especially true in scifi. Just off the top of my head...
Star Trek: Discovery
Rings of Power
Wheel of Time
The Acolyte
...and those are just within the last year or two. If we expand the timeline or the genre, we see even more.

But that's EXACTLY what happened to Doctor Who. They went woke. For nothing more than the sake of going woke.

It’s absolutely a bad thing. It’s stunning how out of touch you are on this matter.

And my point is that Doctor Who's fate hasn't been sealed, since it will be back in 2026, sans Disney.
You won't like it, regardless of whatever quality of is. Anyone who liked the original Davies run should have enjoyed the past 2 seasons, because the style and tone was radically similar, with totally crummy episodes mixed in with good ones. I'm mixed on Davies' original run, and I was mixed on the first 2 seasons of this one.
And Davies' writing and show running on Doctor Who this round has been as optimistic and positive as it was in the mid-2000s. If you're referring to him as angry and bitter because of interviews in which he tells online politards to shut up, that's not a good example of angry and bitter
