You must identify the guy you have the most confidence in to actually FINISH a contract. You CAN'T fire this hire in 3.5 yrs!
In the day and age of analytics, I would not be surprised if there's AI involvement in developing a search pattern based on this criteria. I don't know much about it but its staggering what AI is capable of.
I realize the person identified has to accept the job. You just have to be extremely confident in that guy's coaching metrics before handing out offers.
I know that the day and age of NIL changes the dynamics of a program but this hire is certainly gonna determine the next 6-8 yrs. of our beloved program.

Coaches won’t be staying long term anymore. With NIL and the transfer portal they have no excuse to not win anymore unless they have no financial backing for NIL. I suspect Lincoln Riley and Oklahoma coaches are on hot seats too. These two were hired at the same time as Kelly.

Well you can't get a guy like Kiffin on a short (4-5 yrs.) contract. That can be said for several guys. I do think Kiffin is the safest bet to be able to stick and stay for the duration.

How hard can it be to find a coach that wants to actually work for his $10 mil salary?
Kelly barely was involved with the program.
O worked, won a title then basically quit working to get laid.
“OK if we hire you and pay you $10 mil per, you understand you need to actually show up to work and try to win titles, not pussy right?”
Shouldn’t have to ask that but based on last 2 hires maybe they should.

Well unfortunately kiffin may very well fit that bill. He's the guy that puts you in purgatory by making the playoffs every few years but never able to win the big game because he's soft as shite

Or what you were paying Kelly, either.
