To be fair, Bjork was the one that gave Jimbo the massive extension with the buyout.
Woodward did hire him, but he wasn’t responsible for that part of the equation

Anyone who denies the fact his INITIAL contract was still 10 years regardless of the extension is an idiot especially when BK’s contract just so happened to be a 10 year contract too! Stop defending Woodward!

Agreed! Don’t let these idiots in here tell you a damn thing nor distract you from the fact Jimbo’s initial contract with Texas A&M was 10 years! The same amount of years as BK’s at LSU! That’s no coincidence!

You guys really don’t think outside of the echo chamber, do you? Like…you think Brian Kelly and Jimbo Fisher were the “worst” hires of what? All-time? The past ten years?
Hires aren’t made knowing what the results will be. If Jimbo didn’t take the A&M job, guess what, he would have been hired at LSU. Brian Kelly was an awesome hire, on paper. He was 26-3 in his last three seasons at Notre Dame. I mean…how could you think he was complacent? But, it happened.
Scott is the devil we know, and he’s made some good hires. I don’t get the widespread hate. Alleva? I got it. He was a fricking moron. Woodward at least makes hires that make sense.

It’s not false info genius! Jimbo Fisher’s initial contract was 10 years! He should have never gotten that deal! Idgaf about the extension! Woodward brought him there gave him a 10 year deal and the other dude gave him the extension.

Nobody is ignoring that part, it’s just not the part that matters.
So what? If you want to show confidence in a possible head coach you don’t do that with a 2 year deal. You want a big fish, you have to show you mean it.

It’s on Woodward’s resume’ that he hired TWO football coaches who failed! Do you get that now? Do you think another program gives two shits that the gig behind him gave Fisher the extension or do you think Woodward is done as an AD after LSU???
Football is the bread winner! If you don’t get that hire right as an AD, you are done at any school thats considered a football school especially in the SEC!!

I'm pretty sure the term of the contract affects the amount of the buy out.

It absolutely matters and it’s on Woodward’s resume’! Go ask any school looking for an AD if it matters that Woodward just so happened to hire two failed football coaches that he gave both 10 year contracts and they don’t have the same sports agent either!
