Play hard and competitive the rest of this year, make a bowl game, keep slight attrition, plug a few holes with the portal, keep our recruits in the fold...

...and it's a pretty quick turn-around.

We got a good bit of young talent here rn

So you're saying Kelly recruited well.

This isn't 2007...or even 2018. How do we know 100% that ANY of these guys will be here next year?

You NEVER know. Every player, every year, is a FA.

Kelly has let recruiting dip since he got here. We were consistently Top 5-6 and we have slipped outside Top 10 for HS recruits.

The best teams are winning at HS recruiting and getting good transfers as needed.

I don't see that at all. Defense loses just about everybody, and we will have an inexperienced QB. We will lose some talent to the portal too. Other than RB, I don't see any position improved next season as the roster currently stands, which of course will change.

One factor in the new coach interview process will be "Who are you able to bring from your team"?

Will be interesting to see if someone can come in and turn the offensive line around; talent is not the issue. I know that evaluating OL is a crapshoot, but when the entire 2 deep is 4*+ or highly rated transfers (minus Mubenga at 3*); you should be able to find 5 guys that can block.

On3 has us in the 5-12 range really consistently his tenure here. Without doing the math, I’d say we probably averaged #7 in recruiting rankings.

Frank's the man. He will play MVB and run the table. Get Whit back, move Perk back to the nickel/hybrid.
The crap OL won't matter MVB can scramble.

Yeah I think we'll be ok next year. And on the positive side it literally does not matter who we trot out at QB it will be an upgrade over what we've seen this year

That’s not what I am seeing. Next year is going to be a rebuilding year big time, but with the right coach we can be optimistic about the future. I’m so glad Kelly is gone.

I count that as a + Maybe LSU can put some players on the field who can actually tackle. LSU this season only had 2 really stud players on defense...Whit Weeks the "weeks" he could play and Delane. The safeties were improved for sure...Haulcy especially. Last year, LSU had a good rushing DE in Swinson. This year LSU doesn't have anybody like that.

But my brother and I have noticed a very lackluster DL. Most of the time I have no idea who is playing DL because they don't make impact plays like every other DL in the SEC makes. McKinley certainly never lived up to 5* ranking. And remember when Gooden was "unblockable" against the LSU OL in practice. Well, we were all correct. That proved how bad the LSU OL is...not how good Gooden is.

It hinges on the coach.

If Kiffin gets selected there will be plenty of guys who want to play for him. If we go cheap, then next years coach will
Have a harder time.
