What has he won and why is his name on so many people's mind? I'm not seeing it.

Because he’s brought a consistent offense to Ole Miss, had them an OT and a Kentucky game away from the playoffs last year, has them at damn near a shoe in this year, he’s young, and proven to be a top tiered coach.

You ever consider Ole Miss football a contender for championships before?

Well Lane has made them a contender and will be in the playoffs this year with a D3 QB

Now imagine him at LSU…

Because he’s built a pretty solid and consistent program at Ole Miss! You know the ole miss that hasn’t done shite since the 60’s and was a perennial bottom feeder in the SEC.

They now have a better program than LSU with much less resources.

I like Kiffin. I wouldn’t be mad if he was LSUs next coach.

But he is very much overrated.

He went all in last year in the portal because he thought he had a championship level team and absolutely shite the bed.

That Kentucky loss was inexcusable.

The last coach we hired from ole miss won a title here, so I can see the appeal. He’s a name that should be on the list. He is definitely at or near the top of every open hc job right now.

What has any coach in college football currently won?

Day would never leave OSU

Dabo is washed

Kirby would never leave Georgia

Are there any other NC coaches out there????

Lane has shown he has matured tremendously and would have you in the hunt yearly. It’s hard winning a title but you have to be there to even have a shot and I think he’s a good bet on getting us there

Ole Miss is going to go 11-1 in the regular season this year. Ole Miss!!

He lost his Jaxson Dart from last year’s team, and his offense has not missed a beat.

Imagine if he had better players like he would at LSU. I don’t like him personally, but the guy can coach.

I think Lane is a guarantee that our program will improve from the Kelly era, but the more names that I hear could be interested, the more I start to think of Lane as a really really really good backup option. There are some potential home run hires we could make that we should pursue before calling Kiffin. I will not be upset at all with Kiffin, though. I believe we'd make the playoffs very frequently with him, and he could possibly be our coach for 10-15 years with how young he is.

Ole Miss historically sucks (for the last 60 years or so) and he has turned them into championship contenders. He seems to understand NIL and relates well to younger coaches and to the players. He is the only proven SEC coach that would even consider LSU.

However, the truth is he will just use an LSU offer to increase his salary wherever he ends up and I don't think it will be at LSU.

Ole Miss will drop 1 or 2 more. They struggled to beat some very middling teams like LSU, Arkansas, and Wazzu. They'll miss the playoff with a second loss.

He’s got ole Miss contending for a championship this year in what was supposed to be a rebuild year and his offense is a NIGHTMARE to deal with with all the tempo shite

He has a personality. I know that does not translate into wins but at least the interviews are better.

I think the idea is that if he's been this successful at Ole Miss then just think of what he could do at LSU with more talent and resources. NIL has leveled the playing field though and the jump from Ole Miss to LSU isn't as dramatic as it once was. He has proven he can recruit in the SEC.

The main thing is that he knows how to move the ball and score points in the modern game. For that fact alone I wouldn't mind trying it out.

He has made Ole Miss somewhat decent. I think it could translate well over to our NIL and facilities. Plus, Lane seems like a fun guy who players like.
