Scott Woodward refused to let BK fire Davis, the O-Line coach, so he walked

Ignoring the two historic back to back buyouts, he also likes to meddle in coaching affairs:

LSU offensive line coach Brad Davis is at the center of a report that he might be fired due to disagreements between LSU athletic director Scott Woodward and head coach Brian Kelly. In a meeting, Woodward asked Kelly to fire offensive coordinator Joe Sloan, and Kelly reportedly responded by suggesting they also fire Davis, which was not well-received by Woodward. It was reported that Kelly left the building after the exchange.

If Woodward has an issued with Davis getting fired then he should be gone tomorrow.
Regardless of that, Woodward is not safe by any means.

But the question is why would he have an issue with firing an OL coach of the worst oline in the last few decades?

Who is gonna fire him? Landry?

I dont know what is real or fiction in this shite show, but anyone that objects to firing Davis is not fit to be in any position of power.

Was just reading about this. How could anyone in his right mind not allow that to happen? Leads me to believe that some of this poor performance is not on BK, hence the appearance of being checked out. Need to start chanting Fire Scott next.

Woodward should not be involved in the hiring of the new coach

Davis is the worst coach on the staff by a wide margin.
Why would Woody not let BK can him along with Sloan?
Makes zero sense.

Because Woodward is an idiot

BK got fired bc we got our arse kicked on our own field with a 18 million dollar roster. What does firing Sloan and Davis do? BK is ultimately responsible for every aspect of the team. He was always getting fired after last night.

This is the part I find hard to believe.

This is so stupid. You don’t back yourself into a 50+ million dollar buyout over a dick measuring argument.

If Kelly said no let's keep Sloan but fire Davis instead, then I get it from Woody's perspective. If Kelly said yeah let Sloan walk, let's get rid of Davis as well and Woody took an issue with that, which is how that reads, then that's weird as all hell.

Rumor is that we are getting a new university president soon and that person is not a fan of Woodward, so we are likely getting a new AD.

cheers for updating
still calling some amount of bs... if Woodward truly found firing both Davis and Sloan a sticking point, as opposed to just Sloan, that's nonsense from him.
kind of wonder if this is the Kelly camp's side of things

I heard it was Kelly who didn’t want to fire him

Pretty sure it was Kelly offering to fire Davis instead of Sloan
