What if we paid them but not let them coach?

They work for LSU. Keep them hired just change their titles to include coaching our football team. Go hire new staff to do that and tell BK and his buddies they can’t touch the football team. That way we haven’t fired them we just don’t let them actually coach. No buyouts. Just paying them anyway.
I’d have to give BK a trash bag and and a pick up stick thing and tell him to start cleaning the stadium.

It's the same amount of money either way, so what's the point?

And when he refuses then what? Fire him and pay him the same amount he is due?

Fire for cause. Insubordination. Keep it strung out in the court with depositions and continuances for years.

His contract is to coach football. It's not like we can make him a janitor or an office assistant.

This stupid. We need a game so we have new things to talk about.

I feel like we are already paying them not to coach the offense. Sarcasm...not necessarily.

So spend even more on lawyers and legal fees that have zero chance of winning?!? And hope the judge doesn’t add punitive damages?

Isn't that what we are doing? Have you seen any indication that this team is getting coached. All those players were highly recruited. The NIL class was tops in the nation, all experienced.
The first couple of years under Kelly, we could run and pass. The longer he stays, the more inept we become.
Are there any first round draft choices on this team?

Just when I think this place can’t possibly get more mentally unstable….

That’s exactly what a buyout is with the exception that on a buyout you don’t have the fired party hanging around needing someone to make sure they aren’t sabotaging things. Are you under the impression that a buyout costs more than paying the contracted salary?
