At what age did you get your tattoo or piercing?

I do not have any.
Just wondering if any OTers parents had to sign off when for a tattoo or piercing for you.

Got my ears pierced in maybe second grade.
I went with a friend to a tattoo parlor when I was 18 I think... they got a whole tattoo, I picked the tiniest thing, less than the size of a dime, to see if it hurt.
It hurt... wish I hadn't done it- it literally means nothing, just the smallest stock design they had- very stupid move on my part.
I have drilled into my children the trashiness of tattoos... have a 25yr old that is ears pierced only, no tats. Don't think my 16yr old son would get a tat either.

No tattoos, no piercings.
Getting a tattoo crossed my mind a couple times in my late teen years, but I’m a rational thinker and not driven by emotional decision making so never pulled the trigger.
Also, it doesn’t take a genius to look around and see people in prison, those living middle to lower class, and those with large amounts of debt all have tattoos. I didn’t want to be lumped into that crowd.
Also, being older now, I would never hire someone if I knew they had a tattoo. No reason to take the risk when there are responsible people who don’t.

16. My dad gave this big 7 foot tall biker guy called Country a quarter gram of meth to do mine.

Same.... I have reinforced this message by telling them if you have enough money to get a tattoo, then you have enough money to be financially independent.

I don't think there is a tatoo in my family since my grandpa who got one as a young man during WW2.
All the ladies and 2 male cousins have pierced ears. We make sure to remind the cousins of their gayness often.

I may or may not have stipulated to my children that tattoos would leave them disinherited.
Extreme, yes, I know... but the proliferation and normalization of extensive ink freaks me out and I want my kids to avoid it.
I also point out to them how unique and awesome they will be by having unblemished skin- it is fast becoming a rarity.
