Lads, this will surely hang in a place of honor next to St. Michael and a portrait of Sir Winston painted by my late father.

Would have been fine if he was a Catholic, could have easily been canonized. But he was against what he perceived as worship of Saints which was actually adoration in Catholic teachings.

No, it's not. An idol is something you worship or pray to. This is simply a piece of art in Charlie's honor done in the style of famous historical religious artwork. It's not in poor taste or blasphemous. You're just being hypersensitive.
Let the muslims be the ones to get upset over simple images.
