The Reason I Proposed The Hybrid Contract

At some point, the financial dam has to break. It is untenable for universities to continue offering $100 million or more contracts to coaches while still being obligated to pay the last coach somewhere between $50 - $70 million.
The only entity I know of that spends money that recklessly is the Federal Government, and look where that got us. However, unlike the federal government, universities can't just turn on the printing presses and make more money. Sooner or later, Warren Buffet, The Sam Walton Family, etc, has to pay for these fired coaches. And while this is just one opinion, even The Walton family has their limit in how much they're willing to give to ANY university, athletics department, or alumni group.

Damn bro LSU should have consulted some random tigerdroppings poster before structuring Kelly’s contract why didn’t they think of this?

Because they signed him prior to NIL becoming what it has become?

This issue with the market for head coaches right now is that there aren’t any that would accept a new job that aren’t struggling in one way or another. If the ship can be righted you’re better off with who is in place.
With the transfer and NIL we have achieved parity to a large extent. The talent pool of coaches looking for better opportunities is skewed because with NIL and transfers you don’t know what your new guy will be dealing with.
ie: undefeated teams are rare only half way through. Upsets all over the place.
