We all know how this plays out. Changes at OC/OL. Another season w/Kelly

Everyone needs to pump the brakes.
He’s not going anywhere this year.
He will do the kiss of death for all coaches on the hot seat- fire some coordinators and assistants. Get some breathing room.
A new HC and staff and roster would cost LSU boosters between $75- 100m in new committed and dead money this year alone.
Nope. Not going to happen.
You let this play out with the OC and OL changes. Eat into Kelly’s buyout and see how it goes in ‘26.
That’s what is going to happen here.

I would agree this is the most likely scenario.

I think realistically you could be looking at a whole new offensive staff going into next season.

100%
And you have to pray that Baker stays on for the Defense.

What good OC is going to sign on for a trip on the Titanic?

Just a hunch but it's going to be Tommy Rees as OC. Played for Kelly, OC under Kelly and he originally wanted him to follow him to LSU. If an OC search is happening at LSU it would be foolish to think that Kelly wouldnt call him and I think he accepts as LSU will pay more than the Browns. Coaches hire what they are familiar with and Kelly is familiar with Rees.

And does anyone actually trust him to make decent hires to replace them? I do not.
And even if he did, he still oversees the team and we’d still have a fatal flaw somewhere on the team.

That is a classic Dead Man Walking move

BK has a life expectancy at HC of 1-3 yrs. Why would Rees or any decent OC sign on to that?

Tommy Reese is currently the OC of the Cleveland Browns
I have really mixed feelings on this

Oh I see. So no blame for Baker? 24 points has been enough for us to win because of our defense yet Baker gets no blame? You guys are hopeless.

“ I think realistically you could be looking at a whole new offensive staff going into next season”
But you have to ask yourself why any coach would want to come in and join Kelly’s staff when they know they’re going to be lame duck coaches for one or two years before he’s fired.

True. But coaches are like whores. They know LSU pays top dollar to assistants. And if you happen to light the world on fire it may set you up for a HC gig somewhere else. There are plenty that are arrogant enough to take LSU’s $$$. It’s worth the gamble.

Exactly right
Kelly will remove Sloan and maybe get a good OC and that gets him a year.

This is probably what happens.
HOWEVER, and I say this as someone who was willing to give BK this year to judge him and he lost me yesterday, he looked deflated and defeated and just like someone who didn’t even know where to look for answers in his post game presser. Even in losses he has a snippy, snap back at you, arrogant remark and smile after. Yesterday he looked like he was burying his dog.
Maybe he checks out and comes to a reasonable agreement.

I know it’s not comparable to Kelly’s, but curious what the coordinators’ buyouts are.
