Look I get Joe Sloane play calling is terrible but some legs on our qb would open up so much more. Look how pavia had our defense on skates all day

The fact is that Nuss plays scared.

MVB is not the runner that you think he is.

Never know until you try. Also anything amount of leg is better than what we got now

I firmly believe that MVB needs more playing time.

Does it drive anyone else crazy that Nuss go to move to avoid pressure is to spin turning his back to the receivers where he loses complete vision of the receivers and then it takes longer to pick them back up.

He gets hurt every time he gets touched.

He got lucky so many times yesterday throwing while basically falling backwards

People keep saying this.
No, he's not Mike Vick. But he's 1000% more mobile than Nuss. Even if he's not taking off and running, MVB has more mobility to get out of the pocket and keep plays alive - which is great when you have athletic receivers who can eventually get open.

Yea that’s all I’m saying

He’s a gazelle compared to Nuss. Can actually pull on a read option which is huge in the redzone. Has a great deep ball and is just an all around better playmaker. We were counting on Nuss being a great passer and field general. He’s either a complete bust or hurt or he’s just plain scared.

It’s bizarre so many people think a different QB would have made a difference yesterday. Like you made up this narrative before the game.
We did not punt or turn the ball over until we needed to score at the end of the game, and punted twice.
We couldn’t get a stop on 3rd or 4th down. We decided to stop running, and stop the game 2nd and goal from inside the 1. There is a dysfunction between the coordinators and the HC. Horrible decision making. The problem is much bigger than our QB not being a superhero. They didn’t even give him a chance to be one yesterday.
Both of our losses could have been wins with some execution on our last possession, despite how ugly it may have been getting to that point. We failed miserably each time. I don’t necessarily disagree that the backup may be a better option, but we are in our 4th year of looking like a JV team when it matters the most.
Players come and go, I have zero confidence that with any given QB situation, we have any advantage when it comes to finishing a game.

Well yea that’s a given. But he had negative rushing yards last year at State. Let that sink in. Negative rushing yards. I know sack yards account for that somewhat, but that does not scream runner to me.

Exactly. Our redzone offense is legit just our field goal unit

Can't take Nuss out after giving him that stupid number 18.

Of course I’ve thought this before the game…Nuss has not been good all year. I think a mobile qb would have made a huge difference in our two losses

While I would prefer an incredibly accurate passer, a highly mobile QB can make up for lack of passing yards. Pavia only threw for 160 yards, and they won the game with ease with a 2 to 1 time of possession.

Combine that with absolutely zero athletic ability, he cant go under center and turn around....that maneuver is beyond his athletic ability.
Sloan is calling the game the way he is to minimize the turnovers from the QB position.

69 carries for -12 yards in 2024. So they are probably right. He’ll come in and be prime cam newton.
