If they do, after PSU fired Franklin with a massive buyout, and LSU gives Brian Kelly another year, there should be massive fan protest.

“We don’t want to have to compete in a coaching search with that many programs. Kelly is stable and will have a new OC next year and Baker will still be here. We can lose two maybe three games, it’s okay”

Whoever honestly feels that way is retarded. Plain and simple.

It is not unreasonable to see the logic that being in a bidding war with Arkansas, FSU and Penn State all at the same time is not beneficial. Who would you say would be an absolute upgrade that you would take the risk for?

1. It’s not guaranteed Baker will be here next year

2. Given his decisions that last 4 years, do the sunshine pumpers really trust BK to make a good OC hire?

These fricking buyouts are out of control. Between that and NIL, something’s gotta give.

You think muck to highly of Baker to assume he'll get an offer from someone else after Ole Miss and Vandy. Them boys looked lost on the defensive side.

LSU will be doing the same thing soon. Depends on how bad the A&M game goes. But losses to A&M and bama are probable. Putting us at 3 losses in a row and 4 of last 5. Then arky. If we lose that and the other 2. It is absolutely over.

Do people really not understand the difference?

I don’t want BK, but Norvell went 2-10 in the ACC. Franklin lost 3 games in a row, 2 of them to bottom dwelling Big Ten teams. Kelly can’t win the big one on the road.

What makes you think he would only consider leaving for a HC job.

He’s not stupid and can see he’s attached to a sinking ship. DC at another school may be attractive to him.

Point is, nothing is guaranteed so so wouldn’t t bank on him being on the sideline next year.

Kelly can’t win the big one on the road 5-10 against ranked opponents and 11-11 on the road. He can’t win jack shite

Yes because fans are dumb. Should BK be let go? Yeah probably.

But LSU is not paying him 53 million to go away. We do not have that kind of money.

He’s here the next two years

The Rant thinks there are legions of billionaires itching to donate tens of millions to the LSU football team. If only Woodward would ask them.

The Rant believes any “young hungry up and coming coordinator or small school coach” is a sure thing. Nevermind that the vast majority of those fizzle out.

I’m fine with a new coach, but I’m realistic enough to not expect it this year. If we have $50M extra laying around, then let’s buy some better players. I see a TON of player errors unrelated to coaching that is costing us big time.

I mean, I wouldn't 't call Vandy the big one on the road. They have a good team, but it's Vandy. We were ranked ahead of them. Kelly is starting to lose the games he was known for winning and not just the big ones.

I'll never understand why ADs give huge extensions to coaches after one good year.

If a coach has some sustained success, then maybe. But after one good year???
