There's an airsoft event called "Viet Viet Mania" in Japan. People dress up as Americans or Viet Cong and duke it out and then party with strippers...

I’m pretty sure if I had a choice to move to any country it would probably be Japan

Great country with very polite people who aren’t having enough sex.
Effectively impossible to own firearms there though.

Japan is more American than what America is today.

I think going for the culture would be good enough

My Yakuza connections beg to differ.

It is amazing what 50 years of occupation will do….we thought you’d see things our way!

I would if it wasn't for all their fun bits being blurry. I just don't think I could ever get used to that.

Yes, as a visitor , to your face. Their social structure requires it. But behind your back they hate your guts. trying living there lol I do admire them for it.

After all these years, I finally know what that Jethro Tull song "Bungle in the Jungle" is all about.

Have you visited? It’s impressively clean and low crime. On the other hand, the conformity is depressing and repressive. I was eating sushi at the counter in a Japanese restaurant in Yokohama, and two different Japanese men corrected me for dipping the sushi in soy sauce with the rice side down. Apparently they dip the fish side only. That is symptomatic of the conformity that everyone is pressured to adopt. That would get wearisome.

Went on a cruise or in the Navy?
I lived there for six years. I vowed to NOT stay on Little America. Spent as much time as possible in friends homes away from the base. I was not in the military.
I intended to learn about the culture as much as possible. I sought their help in them, as they sought my help displacing the idea about UGLY America.
Japan has a history centuries before WW2.
There existed an intent to stay Japanese. When survivors of ship wrecks came on shore, they were beheaded immediately .

They don’t get offended easily; that’s for sure.

You don’t need them there. Countries where you need firearms are the actual shitholes. Japan, South Korea, Dubai, UAE, are far safer than the safest American city.

That is the right way though. You don't want to get the rice soggy with soy unless you like that shot of salt.
