Recent airport travelers, are TSA lines longer due to the shutdown?

Sorry if this is a naïve question, I’m hopping on a flight this evening and was just curious what folks are experiencing this week

Yes, I have TSA pre-check, but was not sure if they were running a skeleton crew at airports or not

IAH was the best I have ever seen it at around 7:30am last thursday. PDX was also quick around 5:30 sunday morning.

I have flown 8 times the last two weeks, LGA,EWR,ATL,VPS and the only thing that was even semi-unusual was it took us longer to taxi at EWR one flight.

They've seemed shorter to me if anything.

My question is: what does pre even get you anymore now that you can leave your shoes on?

Keeps you out of the unwashed masses that fly once every 10 years and clog up the lanes.

Clear all the way. Although since I intentionally go through Terminal D, not C/E so it matters less at IAH. Almost none of the foreigners have PreCheck, so the line is usually just me and the flight attendants.

Next Friday and beyond is when you will start seeing issues. That's when the first paycheck is missed.

No TSA issues from several recent flights. I had two (supposed) mechanical issues and a weather delay. But no tsa issues.

I've been to Vegas and NYC (Laguardia) since and the lines were fine...

My issues have been with ground stops, not security lines.

Same, I'm rarely concerned with security lines, its will my plane be there and take off when its supposed to.

I have Clear and the same question applies: what are we even getting now in theory for the money?

I can only think of two real use cases:
1) If you have to re-clear TSA at a place like LAX coming from overseas. The TSA lines at LAX and SFO were horrendous, even with PreCheck. I think I've had to do that twice in ten years though.

2) Atlanta. There is no escaping the absolute mess of the unified TSA screening line, and it seems like 25% of travelers have PreCheck.

Other than those, I only still have it because I forget about the auto-renew.

At my home airport, Clear just funnels into the regular lines, which is kind of annoying.

But since you don't have to take your shoes off anymore - and some airlines are starting to offer Face ID entry anyway, it just seems like all of these services are becoming obsolete.

MSY was a walk right up in the normal line at 8:15am today…I think the TSA Pre line was longer than ours.

I do think grounds crew challenges are a bigger issue. Sat on the tarmac for like 30 mins after landing at ORD because the gate still had a departing plane there
