Wow. This might be the clearest indication yet that the culture is changing.

Definitely read that headline to mean they said shooting cops was justified

You know our country is in dire straights when a rare moment of intellectual honesty is celebrated.
Kudos to the family!

I saw this last week and hadn't seen the video yet. I don't think it was released when I saw the presser.
Imagine as a Parent having to admit your kid was at fault for getting shot and killed by the police. Imagine having to say the shooting was justified because of your kid. I can't imagine that.

video is going to help save lives and save a lot of time in court
that said, sadly it didn't help with Floyd case and many others..

I have real sympathy for the family, to be put in a position where you have to admit this is something hard to grapple with as a parent.

Surprised they didn’t claim that the video was altered by AI…which is what happened here recently after a young man was shot and killed after going for his gun when a cop asked him to step out of the car.

Rarely acknowledged, but this is a common occurrence.

1st I heard of this story. Doesn't look like the cop(?) was even on duty, or pulled the guy over. Was he? Not in uniform, looks like they're looking at the car, and why would the cop turn his back on the guy? Looks like he tried to pistol whip him, didn't connect hard enough, and the other guy retaliated.

I'm wondering if that family has other kids who are good. I knew one white family who had a kid commit murder at 18. The wife told me that her son was bad from early childhood. Their other 2 boys were great kids. She hoped they never let her son out of prison.

Look at that man’s appearance, look at the way he’s impeccably dressed and listen to how he articulates himself. From first impression that is not a man who raised his son to be the reckless individual in the video. That is a man who can watch that video and with conviction say his son cost himself his life. He raised him better and he knows it.

That's the father? Or an attorney representing the family?

Nope. He tried to blow the fat guys head off but the gun didn't fire.

Watched it again. I saw him round house with the guy using the gun to slap him upside the head. He didn't aim the barrel at him and pull the trigger.
