Brian Kelly press conference on SECN today didn't make me feel good. Essentially no change

When asked about schemes, players, QB, BK said we made no material changes on SECN about an hour ago. He acted as if we have it right, but we just haven't executed it yet. He also mentioned that the offense struggles in the 1st half, but is good in the 2nd half. Which is definitely not true. 10 on Clemson, 7 on Florida, 12 on Ole Miss is not enough 2nd half points. We have not been good offensively in the 2nd half which is what BK said we were.

We have 4 FBS games as data points. That is plenty enough data by this point to realize that what we are doing now is not working, and I see absolutely 0 reason to believe it will all of the sudden just click. In AA, there is a famous saying, 'If nothing changes, then nothing changes'. Meaning if you keep doing the same thing over and over, expecting different results, then you'll be failed.

I hope that if LSU puts up 7 points 1st half, BK will find the nads to bring in MVB. We have tried every combination of OL, RB, and WR. The only thing we have not tried mixing up yet is QB. In addition, I'm not against our WRs taking handoff in Brown and Thomas. Brown and Thomas average by far the highest yards per carry on the team, and have been the only consistent carriers.

If Nuss is healthy the offense will improve. Doesn’t mean it’ll be great but it can be average. All we need is average with our defense. I’m trying to stay positive. Here’s to hoping for an average offense

Going into this post, just remember. The most true posts and comments always have the most downvotes on this site or Reddit. Why is that so? Majority of people can't handle tough truth.

It's a week removed now, so they think everything is okay now. But it isn't.

The offense is a well-oiled machine, baby!

It's over a week removed now, so a lot think everything is okay. But it isn't. It's now a quasi-distance memory. It will be the same thing for the 5th time if no changes are made.

While you are not wrong, I don't really give a damn what BK (or any HC) says in a press conference. Good or bad. Just show me the results on the field.

However, I do think we should know early on if LSU committed to making some changes to their approach during the bye week...or if they are just going to maintain the status quo and hope for different results. LSU has been awful under Sloan on opening drives. This year alone they have 4 punts and one TO on their opening drives. The longest drive (Clemson) lasting 6 plays.

Do you think he is going to plaster this information all over the news so you can be satisfied. Some of you people act so entitled.

That's the definition of insanity.

BK9.9 is the King Mediocrity Acceptor. He's loved and adored by all of his idolizing and worshipping MA's though. They love their King.

Here's the "Brian and his Sycophants Club" primary organizational logo.

You will see the same thing - same QB performance and defense gets gased due to no offense productivity.

Depends on what your end goal is. If it's a national championship, we probably need an above average offense.

even if we completely revamped the offense (we didn’t), do you really expect the coach to tell that to the opponent before the game?

To be fair...

LSU has outscored every opponent in the 2nd half:

14-0 vs Clemson
13-7 vs Tech
7-0 vs Florida (defensive TD)
21-10 vs SELU
12-7 vs Ole Miss

The only game that the hole was too big to crawl out of was Ole Miss. The offensive woes are real. The rushing game woes are real.

So I agree - it's not enough 2nd half points. But the real truth is that we haven't scored enough 1st half points at all.

To be fair and not including Nuss run stats, we've really only run about 40-43% of the time vs SEC opponents.

Caden had 93 yds vs UF with over 6 ypc. They averaged 3.5 ypc vs ole miss with RBs.

If they would just prioritize running with Durham, Berry, KJ and JJ. Run power with KJ. That fits him. He has shown burst and willingness to lower the boom in the past.

I swear, Sloan is like a kid on an xbox. He wants to have all of those highlights and big plays but can't see the forest for the trees.

OTB
Hester and Flynn had a really good breakdown on the running issues. The diversity of run plays is non-existent. We have also run less than every team in the SEC. Flynn also alludes to the fact that we are letting the defense dictate the plays we call. They go through play call percentages and types of runs.

Bottom line is we run a predictable offense, have little identity and let the defense dictate our calls.

Do you really think he would announce schematic changes on offense on national TV and a week before the game? Geez Louise.

That's been his M.O. since he has been at LSU. Always start slow and look unprepared in the first half.
