I love the 2nd story porch a lot of stadiums had. All the seats are close to the action. Stadiums today are too big and open. I wish i could experience some of these iconic venues.

The Marlboro advertisement in the first pick is solid gold.

That was a better time for baseball. Now it is all about revenue from suites & comfort for the elites. The common man has been priced out of professional sports.

Yeah those stadiums were the best. But modern stadiums often implement some of the old features we love. At least we’re never going back to the cookie cutter, multi-use stadiums of the 70s and 80s.

Seen 5-6 games at old tiger stadium

So cool - shitty part of town but felt like going back time.

When I was a small kid I think the players were smoking in the dugout.

Something heroic about an Upper Deck homerun

Yes. Tiger Stadium and Comiskey are two parks I wish I could have seen a game in…but the best I could do was Tiger Stadium from the outside and the markers for Comiskey in the new Sox stadium parking lot.

New stadiums are too gimmicky, and have features just for the sake of having them. For example…Houston…a retractable roof they rarely use, a train up on some tracks, a short porch in LF, and formerly a hill in center and a flagpole in play. Citi Field and Citizens Bank come to mind also. They are very nice parks, but they have all of the quirks that don’t make a whole lot of sense when you realize the stadium is surrounded by a parking lot.

I think pretty much everybody

ETA: other than the corporations who use new stadiums as vending machines

A retractable roof isn't a "gimmick" in Texas, it's super necessary and yes they very much do open the roof when it's actually pleasant and for fireworks every Friday night.

a train up on some tracks,
The train is up on "some tracks" because the ballpark was built on the site of an old Union Station. It's an homage to the past and a nod to the history of the site

a short porch in LF
Same as above, they couldn't have adequate outfield seats if it were 340ft in left field; the previous Union Station site doesn't allow the space

and formerly a hill in center and a flagpole in play.
Tal's Hill (named after former Astros president) was an homage to the older parks that had similar quirks, like Crosley Field or Baker Bowl

The lower portion of the upper deck at Wrigley is a great view, because you’re basically right on top of the action. But they’ll never build stadiums like that again, because it results in obscured views due to poles in front of some seats.

It depends, Heinz field is much better looking than 3 Rivers, GABP is much better than Riverfront, SAFECO is better than the King Dome, MM is better than the Astro Dome but old Tiger Stadium, Wrigley Field before the add ons, and places like that were munch better than some modern parks.
