for a family of 5. I get to pick my doctors, I don’t need referrals to see specialists, and co-pays are typically $20.

What is all this noise about stealing healthcare from people? Who are these people that don’t have affordable healthcare?

The dems are shutting down the govt because temporary Covid era enhanced ACA-subsidies are set to expire, an expiration date they set in 2021 when the juiced subsidies were signed by Biden.

If the juiced subsidies end, it will go back to what it was in 2019, when ACA subsidies were already generous

For a lot of people, that’s a lot of money.

The reason it is expensive is all the unhealthy and obese people are now subsidized…. By people like you who pay 700

No kidding. Especially when you consider a decent chunk of public funds already goes into it.

We have an awful system and a group of morons who defend it to the death

You’re very fortunate. A lot of people only have coverage because they got it through the ACA marketplace…

I question those numbers because in 2010 I didn’t have insurance and it was either get it or be fined.

So I got insurance. I wouldn’t have if Obama didn’t coerce people.

Probably people who don’t enjoy having. 10-20% of their monthly after tax income going towards health insurance they won’t even meet the deductible for

I pay 2000 a month for my husband and myself, and that’s for a high deductible plan with a $6000 premium. You must work for a big business that can negotiate good deals with an insurance company. Insurance sucks for a private payer.

I had a relative who was pretty stout in the business of insurance nationwide. He told me a long time ago that health insurance was a huge scam.

We used to have doctors who came to the home. Heck, now a person can buy pet insurance. I went to get a dog checked out for an illness the other day and they wanted to charge me $1437.23. I told the vet to put the dog down.

Before pet insurance the same procedure cost $214.81.

I’ve never understood how people don’t have affordable quality healthcare. In my industry, people jump around a lot and so have I. I’ve had numerous positions with various employers, and out of probably the last 6 or 7 employers, there was only 1 that didn’t offer affordable healthcare (under $600/month for my family of four), 2 that offered it for free for me and a pretty good price for my family, and the rest have all been under $600/month for all of us. Split between two pay periods a month that’s ~$300 a check. That’s not bad.

I currently pay $581/month for my family’s medical, bison, and dental coverage.

I don’t know where people are working to not have quality and affordable healthcare.
