Mom sues Las Vegas School Board over racial abuse. ‘You’re too black’

Orta detailed the phrases in the lawsuit her son was called: “Your skin is burnt by the sun;” “You’re too black;” “You eat 15 buckets of fried chicken every day;” “You shower in Kool-Aid;” and “You’re a watermelon muncher.”
“The harassment continued in the ’24-’25 school year. Another boy from the same friend group escalated the abuse starting the year by barring my son from entering the school, saying that he was, quote, ‘too black to come inside,'” Orta said.
Orta said Assistant Principal Matt Landahl pushed back on the allegations of racial abuse and said of one of the students bullying her son, “[he] is black too.”

This definitely happens in Louisiana. Some of the worst bullying I've seen is between "dark" kids and "light" kids. Southern University had a paperbag test for a reason.

I feel like these are racist epithets from the Mom's generation which means she is probably making this stuff up. I just have a hard time believing modern hispanic kids are making kool-aid and fried chicken jokes.

Admitted it but also defended the racial undertones by pointing to the skin color (assumed lighter than the "victim") of one of the bullies. My guess is the AP is not black and is not aware of how harsh black kids are to other black kids with different skin tones.
